Great cordless vacuum cleaner
I purchased this vacuum cleaner 4 weeks ago. I am very happy with the performance of the Gen5detect. It makes my other electric barrel Dyson obsolete. The Fluffy Optic cleaner head is fantastic for showing microscopic dust on hard floors. My only gripe with the vacuum is that Dyson states it has a 70 minute runtime. However, using the vacuum on medium power, this is probably a 30 minute runtime. I would recommend this vacuum cleaner to anyone who wants a high quality cordless vacuum.

Great machine
I just love this machine. The green light on the hard floor head shows all the dirt and dust on the floor. Was horrified how dirty my floor was but now I can see if being properly cleaned. The noise levels are also so good. My cats no longer run for the hills when the vacuum cleaner starts up. Thank you Dyson for an amazing machine.

Battery Life
I bought this vacuum 3 weeks ago as an update to my V11 Dyson vacuum . I love some of the updates the power on off button instead of trigger on off is a great one . Also the light fluffy head cleaner for hardwoods . Helps see all the dirt that you may have missed without it .But I’m a bit disappointed in the battery life . I have a 1300 share foot ranch with area rugs and hardwoods and can’t get through the whole house one a full charge . This vacuum being the top of the line i thought it would stay charged longer than my older V11 cordless vacuum . My V11 i never ran out of charge vacuuming . That is definitely a big disappointment for me when it’s advertised to have this long battery life. All in all it’s a great vacuum just the battery a problem for me .

Disappointed to say the least
Shame on you Dyson! If I could give you 0 rating I would! I purchased the Outsize gen 5 to replace my current outsize I purchased 6 years ago. In my opinion the new vacuum is such a let down. The sweeper head for hard wood floors is so small, it takes me twice as long to vacuum. Your description states that it cleans homes medium to large. I guess if I lived in a box that might be true. The suction is not what I expected for a Dyson. I don’t like the fact that there’s no trigger. Attachments from my old outsize do not fit the new vacuum! The most aggravating thing however is I also purchased the dok station that was supposedly to fit all outsize models because the dok station I currently have no longer fits the new vacuum (another nice way to help the consumer spend more money)!! The battery cord plug is too large and will not fit inside the pole that snaps to the vacuum. So waste of money! I’ve used Dysons for years and always thought it was the best on the market! Unfortunately I won’t be buying another one.

Very good suction works well
I bought this a month ago the only thing I find with it is that its a bit heavy for me everything else Im happy with but its just a bit heavy in the head.

POOR🙁
The machine does not clean well at all. Very unimpressed and this is sad because I’ve owned a Dyson for years. I’m returning it. I do not recommend it at all. I’d hoped to avoid dragging a cord but this isn’t the answer.

Great vacuum
Absolutely obsessed with how well this vacuum sucks and all the dust it is able to pick up. I wish there was more weight on the heads of the vacuum though. There is not much ‘swivel’ on the carpet head for ease of turning. The hardwood floor one has way better ability to swivel. Battery life is impressive. We have a side split house that has four levels. If I run the vacuum on economy mode then I’m almost able to do all four levels. But only one of two if I use auto, which I prefer because it collects more. Overall I would definitely recommend the vacuum. Just wish the machine somehow wasn’t so top heavy where you hold the machine.

Nice design
Good suction and easy to use. Very appealing design and the technology is great. The digital particle counter is really cool. Battery is heavily taxed by the machine so you are likely to need to charge after every vacuum session.

Obsessed!

Love the green light
This is my 3rd Dyson and they just keep getting better. The green light for hard floors is amazing. It shows dog hair and dust I could not see even with all the lights on. The battery is very long lasting and charges faster than my older one.

Love this stick vacuum.
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I love it. The battery is heavier than my last Dyson stick vacuum but it’s balanced enough not to be a problem. I love the green light that shows the dirt on the floor. I use the eco cycle and I can vacuum the whole house with plenty of battery to spare. The only small complaint is that there are two positions on the holster to store attachments but it really only has room for one attachment at a time. I have to sit the attachments on the floor.

Where's the Light?
We are upgrading from an older Dyson and were really interested in having a lighted motor. The light seems to be beneficial on the hardwood attachment, but are really disappointed there is no light on the carpet motor.

Very underwhelming!
The suction is not nearly as good as I'd hoped, the laser randomly turns off sometimes, the attachment pieces can be very difficult to pull apart and it did not come with a crevice tool! Also there's no where to hang 3 of the attachments on the included plastic wall mount. This is a very poorly thought out piece of crap. Do not buy!
