Love this stick vacuum.
I bought this a couple of weeks ago and I love it. The battery is heavier than my last Dyson stick vacuum but it’s balanced enough not to be a problem. I love the green light that shows the dirt on the floor. I use the eco cycle and I can vacuum the whole house with plenty of battery to spare. The only small complaint is that there are two positions on the holster to store attachments but it really only has room for one attachment at a time. I have to sit the attachments on the floor.

Where's the Light?
We are upgrading from an older Dyson and were really interested in having a lighted motor. The light seems to be beneficial on the hardwood attachment, but are really disappointed there is no light on the carpet motor.

Very underwhelming!
The suction is not nearly as good as I'd hoped, the laser randomly turns off sometimes, the attachment pieces can be very difficult to pull apart and it did not come with a crevice tool! Also there's no where to hang 3 of the attachments on the included plastic wall mount. This is a very poorly thought out piece of crap. Do not buy!

Great stick vacuum

Not even good for small houses
I only bought the Gen5Detect because it said suitable for large houses, we only have a small house and the battery couldn't even get halfway through the clean even on automatic which is recommended. If I've known this I would've never bought this.

Little disappointed in the unit unfortunately
Well I have always had Dyson vacuum cleaner and been very happy until buying the Gen5 , the unit is heavy then I expected and disappointed in the attachments how they are situated. I’m finding myself using my original Dyson once I found out I could replace the battery.

I bought this few weeks ago as my v11 Dyson gave up on me and it was way to complicated for me to fix the tigger red on and off switch = also had it for about 5yrs and we really Tok good care of it - from cleaning it regularly = so we bought this and donated the older one to our cleaning staff at our bldg = so far besides this new model not having a trigger - we haven't see a dramatic change but ofc its new so we like it = all made a YouTube review of our purchase fyi

The best Dyson I’ve owned!
I absolutely love my new Dyson Gen5Detect. I have a Labrador that comes inside at night and the hair left behind the next day is crazy. When I put the hard floor tool on I could not believe the amount of hair and dust! The Gen5Detect is so amazing at sucking it all up and my floors are so clean. It’s so easy to use & so efficient.

Great sweeper if you’re shorter than 6 feet. The steep angle makes it harder to navigate on carpet. Have to bend a bit. Not so bad though, the battery doesn’t last long enough to create a lower back problem. I just repaired my 2007 Dyson for the Nth time. Still strong…. Dyson has it figured out! Best sweeper on the planet. Suction is great, filtration is great (it explains particle size quantities it captures). Believe or not! Attachments are intuitive to swap and use. The hard floor attachment with the fancy light is an absolute blast to operate. Wish I had more wood floor…. I have to convince myself that ‘ I love it’ to justify the cost. Easy to store and charge with the ‘optional ‘ stand. (Should have been included). This has to be a “TOP 10” review?

Overall love it
I was superseded how much dirt and fur was left behind using my old vacuum compared to the gen5 the light is insane and I don’t think I’ve used the vacuum so often ever in my life ! The only issue I have is some units are sold with a stand and soeare not, I would hv ourcaed elsewhere had I known. I also find taking the vacuum apart to employ is a little awkward not as easy as I would like, a bit clunky, also I’m 5’6 and I feel A bit hort for the machine as the nozzle isn’t adjustable

Happier with the old Dyson Animal
I updated from the old Animal version, and I am sorry that I did. It is more cumbersome, I have to change brushes for hard floor, and the carpet brush does not handle rugs at all well. It is heavier and not as responsive to handle.

Great features and suction
Both my husband and I love this vacuum, My husband is an engineer and when this arrived he was impressed so impressed at how it works, shows how much dirt and dust it is collecting that he is now doing the vacuuming daily. I love it because I don't have to do the vacuuming--apparently it is too heavy for me to use.

Great suction as promised!
I bought my Dyson GEN five about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks ago and I love it. It works exactly as described. It picks up fine dust which is viable with the green light! There are helpful videos available in case I need instruction for maintaining the vacuum cleaner. I highly recommend this product!

A big step up from my 12 year old model! Bigger dust capacity, awesome suction (need to change the fittings on some carpets). A bit heavier. Did a great job vacuuming sand out of my car.
