Getting it to lie flat
From previous reviews I was anticipating trouble in getting the mat to lie flat so it could do its job. Since our litter boxes are in the basement, I decided on a whim to put it face down by the furnace (safe distance , of course) to see if warmth would help. I forgot to check on it for around two days, but wow, it was almost completely relaxed and flat except for the very tips of what were the 2 inner corners of the original roll. This is probably not the most practical solution, but I bet a soak in a hot tub or other source of warmth would also work.

Not as described. This is not a “sifting” mat. I was looking for the double layer kind which has holes in one side and lets the litter fall to the middle and can be poured back into the bin from the other layer. Otherwise, works fine as just a litter mat.

Easy to Clean!
I usually don’t write reviews but these litter mats definitely deserve it! I’ve tried a lot of litter mats over the years. These are by far the easiest to clean. They catch a lot of litter. I’m able to run the vacuum over them with the hose attachment to pick up loose litter. They’re also easy to wash. I was using mats with the honeycomb shaped wells. Litter would get stuck in the wells and even after scrubbing them I just felt that they were never really clean. These mats are much easier to clean! A lot of reviews I read complained about the mats not laying flat. They do arrive rolled up but I just put something to weigh them down when I first set them up. They were laying flat after a week or so. They are definitely worth it!

Will not lay flat
It comes rolled up with cable ties holding it tightly wound. The problem is that it can’t unfold and there’s no way to get it to lay flat after that. This photo is after 48 hours with heavy books on the corners to try and force it to lay flat.

Best litter Mat I’ve bought by far. This mat is easier to clean than any other one I’ve bought. You have to weigh it down when you first get it to help it flatten out. They hold up to wear and tear. Very easy to clean and vaccuum.
