Win over AWU3
Fantastic watch and big upgrade from Approach S62. I was going to get S70 for golf, but Fenix has golf app and much more! Use it for my cycling and walking trails. Never have to worry about battery life for most trips. Was debating between AWU3 and Fenix, and glad I made the right decision. I sleep with it all night to check my sleep pattern as well.

Fantastic Fenix 8
First full disclosure: I have been a Garmin fan since my first Garmin product I purchased in the 1990s. I received this watch as a gift to replace my Fenix 5Plus that was still working but it has a weaked nonreplaceable battery. I am very impressed with everything about the Fenix 8 and its beautiful easy to read watchface. It actually has more capability than I can use but it will be my daily wear watch. I am still learning all of the features and plan to update this review at some point.

Poor
I bought this a month ago and have nothing but problems… I’m on my 3rd device. Everytime it does an update or is turned off the power plug has to be plugged in to get the screen to turn back on. I came from Apple Watch Ultra, and honestly so much more user friendly. I had such high hopes with the Fenix 8 because of friends that had it and loved it. But I’m far from impressed.

Become more health conscious!
I’ve been talking about getting an Apple Watch for 3 years but couldn’t come to spending the money. A few mints ago I decided I need to get back in shape, so I started researching smart watches. The more I searched, the more I realized I didn’t want a watch that was so “smart” but was able to track and provide health info and goals. I ended up biting the bullet and getting the Fenix 8 47mm Amoled. Besides being a great looking watch, it has pushed me to become way more conscious of my health. I am now walking daily, mountain biking more, and overall feeling better about myself. There are way more features on the Fenix 8 than I’ll ever use, but man am I glad I bought this watch. I didn’t want to charge daily, I didn’t want games on it either. I wanted a watch that would track health and allow me to disconnect from the everyday grind. And this watch does all of that. Looking forward to the adventures this watch will push me to see!

Screen animations / Software bug
I bought this a month ago and I’m fairly happy I did. I’m migrating over from an Apple Ultra2 thinking this had more features I wanted. While it does, I’m on my second replacement or third watch due to the fact that the screen animation like getting the blue Garmin triangle when powering on, does not work. It was determined after I received my third watch that this was a software issue and there is no fix for it at this time. If they fix that, I’ll be delighted. If not, I’m contemplating going back to my Apple Watch.

Does it all
I replaced my Fenix 5+ with the Fenix 8 and love it. Does everything my old watch did but a little better. I like the touch screen and the sleep mode. Easier to navigate and customize. It’s still way more watch than I need (really just use running, heart rate, music and golf) but some of the newer updates like sleep tracking, morning and evening reports, and improved GPS are growing on me. Well worth the investment and my last one made it 7+ years.

Awesome watch!
Needed the watch quickly as my other one broke. Got this Fenix 8 in two days! Love the new watch! They style really appeals to me plus there are so many options to customize it. So many features on the watch I still have not found them all. Perfect for my triathlon training and looks awesome when not training. Love the watch!

Great Watch!!
Bought my Fenix 8 last month and absolutely love it. Preparing for my first Hyrox event and my Garmins information has been clutch from sleep, to heart rate, performance tracking and analysis. Very helpful. Love the look and functionality.

Careful with AirPod connections.
Everything worked as advertised except playing music via Bluetooth. Frequent disconnects with AirPods made listening while running not possible. Returned the watch as this is a deal breaker for me.

Great, but not perfect
I love the watch, but it requires a steep learning curve. It’s not easy or intuitive like an Apple Watch, but you’re not buying an AW. You choose Garmin on purpose. I love how everything is together, the battery life and the flash light. I also love the golf tracking capabilities, along with the usual activities. I just wish the map function was as easy to use as an Apple Watch and I wish the calendar synched better with Microsoft Outlook. Hopefully, Garmin will change this in the future.

Love this watch!
love this watch - it offers many useable features - wish the Garmin watch bands were not so expensive and the Iron Grit watch face, included with the watch, should be included in Connect IQ for easier programming

Fix auto dimming light sensor
Excellent watch in every aspect... the only problem is the automatic lighting sensor; it's rubbish. They should fix it with software and make the Fenix 8 the best watch for workouts.

Great Multisport watch the smartphone is a bonus!!
I've have the Fenix 8 for my active lifestyle. Great battery life, I get around 19 days when I have to charge. I could get 21 days but don't want to risk it. I'm active and record my cycling, running, hiking and sleep. The set-up was easy using the Garmin Command app and Connect IQ for my customizations and the voice commands is great addon. Using the watch as a phone is a plus.

Best Garmin watch!
I have had this watch for about 3 weeks now and I absolutely love it! I have had the Venu 3S, Venu 4, and the Forerunner 965 and this watch is by far the best one that I have had. It looks great on my wrist and it has all the features of all the watches I had combined into 1.

Great warch
Love it! Superior to the Forerunner 970. Battery life and metrics are solid. Built in strobe light is epic for early morning runs. Quite accurate on distance tracking while indoor lap swimming
