Great features, tough watch
I purchased this watch about a month ago. This was an upgrade from the Fenix 5 sapphire. My previous watch was solar so I really enjoyed almost never having to charge my watch. Thankfully this watch battery seems to last at least a few weeks before needing a charge. Also I didn’t even realize this watch is touch screen as well, great feature update. The screen is much brighter and clearer. Still exploring all the features, there are many! Overall a great fitness and activity tracking watch. I’ve had a couple Apple Watches and they don’t even compare to Garmin. Definitely recommend!

So far ... so great!
I needed something with a longer battery life that would allow me to track iterative, all day hikes, like on the Appalachian Trail. I considered the Fenix 47mm Pro, but a few $$$ more, I could almost double the power with the 51mm Pro. Preliminary test hikes, using auto select, utilizes about 10% of the watch power for a 10 mi / 6hr hike (which collects all the metrics), and is about what I expected. It's a baseline, but I need to research / know & test what metrics can still be collected with more battery efficient gps / tracking settings. My other activities (cycling, running, walking, strength, HIIT training) and metrics will just be bonus. Also, love how the health and sleep metrics that are collected and summarized graphically and textually by Garmin Connect. Still need to test other settings and scenarios, including the subscription plan (but I have the Inreach Mini 2, so somewhat familiar). Integration to Strava is automatic and immediate. Pleasantly surprised how well the 51mm wraps around my (only) 18.3 cm wrist. Love the Titanium bezel, sapphire lens, & watchface variability! The reports (e.g. weather, stock, sunset, etc), compass, and flashlight are bonus. Overall and so far (two weeks in), completely satisfied! Well done Garmin!

It’s a great tool
I was gifted an Fenix 8 Pro 51 for Christmas and lucky enough to get it early, so Iv been wearing it for about 3 weeks. Coming from an Apple Watch Ultra for me there has been a learning curve. With that being said I couldn’t be happier with the switch. Tracking is great. Garmin Coaching plans are amazing and hard and push you. The mapping features are second to none. Haven’t used the inReach features but haven’t had the need to. In testing they seem flawless. Does everything I need it to do and more well worth the switch.

Only the best
I’ve had this watch for 3 weeks but it’s my fourth generation of Garmin watches. I absolutely love this watch and the previous fenix and forerunner versions I’ve owned. Superb battery life and relentless number of features. I’ll never give it up. Love tracking all my stats.

Great watch
Bought this watch over a month ago and am so far enjoying it. I have finished some long rides and a half Ironman without any glitches. I have not subscribed yet to the inReach subscription plan so cannot comment on that but I have to say that the original Livetrack is not very consistent and does not always send message to the recipient when activity is started. I have researched in forums but could not find a clear solution. Garmin needs to work on this. Other than that I am yet to explore all features but it was a great upgrade from my prior Fenix 6 Pro to this one.

Great Multitool Watch
I've had this for a little over a month and am very happy with it so far. My primary use cases are outdoor ultrarunning, strength training, cycling, and climbing. I upgraded from a Fenix 8 to get the LTE/Sat connectivity, because I dislike running with my phone. Overall, this watch has been superb. All of the "base Fenix 8" aspects have performed flawlessly; I will focus on the "pro" aspects. On LTE: LiveTrack has been working flawlessly. The LTE messaging has been working well, also. One note: When somebody replies to you, sometimes it doesn't come through right away (such as if the watch is getting its internet connection through a phone); hopefully Garmin will fix this latency issue. I have not used the satellite messaging feature yet. On the size...The 51mm model feels a little large, and the pro version is a little thicker than the base Fenix 8, but I got used to it and don't mind it. I opted for the larger size to have sufficient battery life on longer runs when using LTE and navigation, and so far the battery performance has demonstrated well.

Do it all
Bought this because I had an offer to sell my Fenix 8. Thought it would be everything I loved about that watch plus the extra bells and whistles. And it is very good. But the treadmill calibration is really bad. And it lags on pace on interval training: I am either a snail or The Flash himself. Takes so many runs to start getting it right that it is frustrating and can mess with your workouts. Best to runs for a while just on constant speed on treadmills. No problems outdoors. The display is the star of the show.

My favorite smart watch ever.
I have had several Garmin triathlon watches as well as the MK2, which is essentially a Fenix for diving. I have loved them all and they keep getting better. This Fenix 8 Pro is jam packed with upgrades from my previous watches. While I am still learning to navigate all the features, it’s a 10 out of 10. Home run.

My Fenix Pro 8 Is an Excellent Fitness Resource
There was a lot of internal debate and research that went into my decision to switch from my Apple Watch Ultra 2 to Garmin and the decision ultimately came down to which had the features I use all the time and which features help me the most with my fitness goals. The Garmin Fenix 8 Pro AMOLED (51mm) was the better choice. First, there’s the battery life… I haven’t needed to charge my Fenix 8 Pro for almost two weeks, now, and I have 51% charge left (10 days). I had two Apple Watches (the Ultra 2 and an SE) to be able to guarantee availability when I needed it. With the Fenix 8 Pro, I get great data which is useful for training - not to mention great in app coaching and data that help make my workouts - especially running workouts - more effective and efficient. Another thing that the Fenix 8 Pro does is break down my strength workouts into each exercises and I can customize the data. The information is recorded in the Garmin Connect app and it is fantastic to be able to see all of it. Between my Garmin watch and Garmin Connect app, which integrate well with several other apps available on my iPhone, I am able to review and answer almost any question I could think of about my fitness levels and training at any time.

Best Smartwatch for Outdoors
I have owned several Garmin watches through the years and just upgraded to a Fenix 8 Pro from a Fenix 6X that I owned and wore daily since launch. The 8 Pro is a massive upgrade, but still kept the features that make the Fenix series great. The build quality seems every bit as good as previous versions. Which means that you don’t have to baby this watch, and it should hold up in extreme outdoor conditions. The size and weight are perfect. For reference, I am a 6ft tall man. The 51mm size is perfect for me, and this was the same size case of my previous 6X. Thank you Garmin for continuing to keep the size and tank-like build quality of the Fenix series! If you want a lighter or smaller fitness watch, a Forerunner, Venu, or other model may be a better choice. The screen resolution is excellent, and battery life is outstanding for a smart watch within an OLED screen. I love that I can get over three weeks on a charge with regular use, in comparison other popular smart watches are lucky to last through a single day. The two features that prompted me to upgrade in particular were the satellite and LTE connectivity. These are great safety features to have, especially if going for a run, paddling, or other activity where you do not want to bring your phone along too. My main activities for this watch are hiking, backpacking, running, paddling in a kayak, and golf. So far, I absolutely love this watch and look forward to wearing it for the next several years. If you are into outdoors activities, this is in my opinion the best smart watch on the market today.

Great Watch
Great watch and amazing features. However there is a need for longer battery life. I have an Instinct 3 Amoled and the battery life on that watch is better than the Fenix 8 Pro. Beside that no other issues.

Wasn't impressed
I bought this and returned it and just ordered the regular Fenix 8. Connectivity and messaging being only through Garmin messenger is a big no no. It's basically useless. When you make it available through other carriers then we'll talk. Also it's bulky with less battery.

Flagship
There’s a good reason Garmin considers the Fěnix their flagship sports watch. Features, build, utility and quality all top of the line. Pricey yes, but worth every penny.

Unmatched capabilities!
I recently upgraded my Fenix 7X 51mm to gain the connection benefits of the 8X Pro. First of all I loved my 7 and it was amazing. The battery life, rugged durability and capabilities were all I needed if I carried my phone for connectivity. I do not like to carry my phone on my primary activity of running. So my wife really wanted me to upgrade. Since upgrading I have enjoyed the increased battery life, giving my wife the peace of mind that I am able to connect if I need help.
