Q: Does this watch track pace to the second or does it round to every 5 seconds? My old Garmin gives me pace to the exact second. Seems like most watches today round to the nearest 5 seconds. Very annoying. What does this watch do?

So Far, So Good!
I've only used it for three runs. Compared to my Apple Watch, I love the Garmin's button controls that make it easy to start, stop, and navigate. I'm still learning how to use the training features, and it did take some time for me to figure out how to sync my Spotify music. Overall, I like it. Just need more time to get comfortable with all its features.

Very good watch
I’m 77 years old and have been running since mid 20’s. I have bought forerunners 205,230,245 and 265. I’m not a competitive runner, nor have I run a race after 75. I find the 265 is an excellent watch with enough features to be a valuable health and training tool. It almost too much of a watch for me. I don’t use the music feature and needed a long phone call from product service department to get it setup. Buy this watch you will love it.

Terrible Experience
This was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. I purchased a brand-new Garmin watch, and from the beginning it failed to connect to Wi-Fi. After contacting support and researching the issue, I learned that Garmin devices do not support 5 GHz networks, which is already a major limitation for a modern product. What makes this unacceptable is that even after switching my home network to 2.4 GHz, the watch still would not connect. I followed all recommended steps, changed router settings, split Wi-Fi bands, and tested multiple configurations — nothing worked. Because of this issue, I ended up having to return two different Garmin watches, thinking the first one might be defective. The second unit had the exact same problem, proving this is not an isolated case but a serious compatibility or design flaw. A product at this price point should not require users to reconfigure their entire network, and it certainly should not fail even after meeting the required conditions. What should have been a simple setup turned into hours of wasted time and stress. Very disappointing. I would not recommend this product.

Great Experience with the Garmin Forerunner 265
I bought this amazing watch over a month ago and I am using it 100% of the day over my I-Watch. It tracks a lot of information for me. From tracking sleep patterns and providing recommendations to tracking my running patterns and plenty of information on status and recommendations to improve my performance. I truly recommend this watch to anybody!

Great Watch
I purchased this watch after my first marathon because my Apple Watch did not hold up for the run. The battery life drained. Now I can go days without charging. I went from having to charge my watch everyday to once a week. I also love all the features that come with this watch. The recovery notifications, abnormal heart rates, music on your wrist and so much more! This watch will be a total game changer for my long runs.

Garmin is always quality. I have been a long time Forerunner 945 user and recently switched to the 265. It was a great decision. I love the metrics and Amoled on the is watch. It is the perfect upgrade.

Getting better all the time
This is my fourth!! Garmin watch. I’ve been a Garmin user for like 18 ish years. I am impressed how much tech and data I get from my new forerunner, especially compared to the last one. And I was worried about battery life ( as that is usually why I have to replace my watches ). This 265 will last for three ish days, using it for my runs, and monitor my O2 sat at night. Super impressed.

Great addition to my exercises
The Garmin 265 is an excellent watch for tracking runs, soccer, and daily walks. The GPS is very accurate, and the heart rate and pace data are reliable and easy to understand. It’s comfortable to wear all day, the battery lasts several days, and the screen is bright and easy to read even in sunlight. I also like how quickly it connects to the phone and how detailed the activity summaries are. Overall, it’s a very nice and dependable device for anyone looking to improve their fitness and track multiple sports.

Does it all & long life?
I’ve had Forerunner 265 for about 9 months now. It does everything I need and lots more that I’ve not yet worried about learning how to do. It tracks lots things for my rides and walks, saves them, and tells me how I’m doing. My favorite thing is the battery life — I charge it for about an hour and only once a week. I also appreciate how it syncs with my Apple phone and shows me the notifications so I don’t have to look at the phone every five minutes. I don’t yet use it for music, paying for stuff, or finding my phone, but those are all there too. I’ve not scratched the glass yet, so it seems pretty tough, but I will likely get a sapphire glass next time now that I know I like it. I chose this one because I didn’t want to spend more on something I wasn’t sure how well I would like it. It’s great. Will get another Garmin next time.

Everything I need as an intermediate runner
I trained and ran my first 10K with a Fitbit, which served me well, but I wanted to upgrade to a more runner-focused watch. While the more recent and expensive Garmins (570, 970, etc.) all looked great, I ended up getting the 265. Even though it came out 2 years ago, it is still an excellent running watch. The heart rate is accurate, I'm enjoying using the training suggestions, and the health and training features are excellent. Would recommend to anybody.

Wonderful upgrade
Have a Forerunner 735XT that I bought over 3 years ago. The problem was that the battery life was getting shorter and shorter. Purchased this Forerunner 265 in an early Black Friday sale. Love it. In order to having a color screen, it is incredibly easy to use and has far more features than my old 735XT. It gives me training suggestions as well as monitoring my overall fitness. The touch screen took a little getting used to but I now love it. Great purchase and great upgrade.

Love this watch
This is a great watch, I have had many running watches and when my 245 gave up I went to the 265 and love it. Color screen that’s large enough to read for those of us in our advancing years, has music on board so I don’t have to bring my phone and has more features than I will ever use. Great watch!!

Solid overall performance. All I wish this watch could do better is show the time during some specific performances

Garmin Forerunner 265
This watch has been a huge upgrade from my old forerunner 45, it didn’t have a flashlight function which now it does, it’s pretty nice actually, when I was sick it sent me messages that “some parameters were out of normal range” maybe it could detect issues that maybe you don’t feel symptoms of. I honestly think it’s so good because it tells me how I am doing based on the data it collects, totally different from forerunner 45. This watch is truly a spectacular design by Garmin I have to say.

Great Watch for Beginner to Intermediate
Battery life is great compared to other brand smartwatches. The heart rate on the Forerunner is much more precise that the lower level Garmins that I have used before. Great for tracking my 10K runs and training for other longer runs.
