A: Our ingredient philosophy and review is time tested, thorough and take the skin of sensitive skin people. While no product can be “chemical free,” ingredients used in Vanicream Products are carefully vetted by PhD scientists for quality, safety, efficacy and function by reviewing the Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) assessment, manufacturer/supplier information, peer reviewed journals, National Institute of Health (NIH) and FDA for their intended use and concentration. Special attention is given to allergenic potential. All new ingredients are tested by the Quality Control Laboratory, and an ingredient review committee who reviews and approves new ingredient submissions. Additionally, all finished products are dermatologist tested by HRIPT (human repeated insult patch test) to evaluate the potential for skin sensitization and/or irritation which also confirms the overall product safety.

Drying,scalp irritating, and insrant allergic reaction
First wash , whole head on fire like ants are all over my head. Keep sneezing non stop , burning my throat just having it on my head . Superrrr drying , I have long hair and with only one wash was all breaking off durning blow dry. Like zero lather … I’m about to go up stairs and use a shampoo I’m allergic to just to get this off my head it’s so bad .

Other products like Head and Shoulders, leave my hair oily and needing to be washed halfway through the day, I still have flakey, itching skin. With big-name brands like Pantene, my hair feels clean, but my scalp itches and burns, and the scent is too strong. Prescription shampoo smells horrible and isn't realistic to use long term. It Totally Works For Super Sensitive Skin
It works for my son’s sensitive skin. He has mild eczema and dermatographic urticaria. Most regular shampoos make his head itch, even Head & Shoulders. This shampoo is the only one we have found to work among some of the odd the shelf sensitive skin shampoos. We learned about this brand from a support group. Give it a try.

Very drying!
Sooo incredibly drying!!! This didn’t make my head itch due to allergens, which is good. But oh my gosh, my scalp and hair were instantly fried with using this just once. And each time I have used it, the same issue. It strips my hair so much and with having fine, curly hair, it’s just not cutting it for me. So expensive for a shampoo that ruins my hair! I suppose it works as an allergen friendly wash, but won’t use it again.

At first I was like ooo this is finally something I’m not allergic to. Nope; started making my hair feel gross and made me lose a lot more hair than usual. Then I started breaking out from it so if you can stay far away. Not sure what they use in here but I see I’m not the only one with these issues. I used both the shampoo and conditioner and oooof is all I can say now

Lost an INSANE amount of hair!
My allergist recommended this shampoo. I've been using it for over a year. It is the worst product ever! When my hair started falling out, I figured it was because I was using new products and adjusting to my allergies. Unfortunately, it is THIS shampoo. My once-thick hair has become extremely thin. I find myself brushing clumps out of my hair every night. I only want to warn others about the side effects of this product. Please avoid it at all costs!
