Q: We just purchased this today. The 360 and crane drop controls are not working. The only one that is working is the control that makes the crane go up and down. Is there some way to troubleshoot this before I go make an exchange?

Ending up purchasing a replacement because I thought the first one was broken…turns out theirs a switch on the bottom that I didn’t even know about. Now all the levers work. Annoying. My 3 year old son loves it! Wish there was a prompt or paper to tell you to find the switch - that would have been nice!

Great toy with a few caveats. Defintely a toddler favorite
A lot of negative reviews are from people who didn’t swap it from try mode to play mode- all the buttons worked fine and my toddler played with it all day. There are two things that I do not love and one that I would recommend removing before giving it your kiddo for your own sanity: 1. If you have a toddler that wants you to fix anything that breaks or gets ridiculously upset when things continually break, remove the two stabilizers that come out from the sides of the truck. These are really really poorly constructed and they’ll just pop off constantly and it’s caused a lot of tears and frustration. I hate these two things. It’s like toddler/parent torture. 2. The other attachments that can attach to the hook are a little finicky. They can easily come off and that can also be very frustrating. I would most likely have removed these had I known about it and just given him the hook- not the claw or wrecking ball. Otherwise, it’s a really fun toy.

TLDR; it wasn't suitable for my child, motor easily burns out. I bought this last holiday season for my son and turns out, even in the recommended age for the toy, he didn't understand to stop the levers and burnt out the motor, this toy doesn't have a fail safe to prevent the burnout. The crane part stopped working after 6 months.

Maxxaction needs to be in "play mode."
Must switch from "try me" mode to "on" or "play"mode!! Lots if reviews complain about the controls. We took it back once before actually using AI to figure it out. Black switch on bottom of truck.

Just opened this and only one of the three controls actually work. My 2.5 year old doesn’t know that so he does like it. I’m returning it or hopefully swapping for one that does work. I got it on sale but I definitely would not pay full price for this.

This toy was complete junk. The mechanics stopped working within a few hours of purchase and it frustrated my toddler bc the lift would not stay up with the arm extended with attachments, what is the point. I’m returning this item.
