[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using the Roomba Max 705 with the auto empty dock for a few weeks now, and honestly, it's made a noticeable difference in how clean my house stays without me thinking about it all the time. Setup was pretty straightforward, and the mapping worked better than I expected. It didn't just bump around randomly it actually learned the layout pretty quickly and now goes room by room in a way that makes sense. I like that I can tell it to just clean certain areas, especially the kitchen after dinner. The suction is strong. I have a mix of hardwood and rugs, plus a cat that sheds a lot, and it picks up way more than my old robot vacuum ever did. The rubber brushes don't get tangled with hair , which saves me from constantly having to clean them out. The auto-empty dock is probably my favorite part. Not having to dump the bin every day is a game changer. It's a little loud when it empties, but it only lasts a few seconds so it's not a big deal. Overall though, it does what it promises. My floors stay consistently clean with way less effort from me, and that alone makes it worth it.

We have 5 cats and this does a nice job with cat hair, dust bunnies and cat food crumbs. Even my skeptical husband is impressed. Easy to clean and maintain. Is the Roomba perfect? No. But it's very good, and I would not hesitate to buy it again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some things I love: it’s very pretty and a pretty petite design. I love the headlights. It goes right along the baseboards which is great for dust. I love the bag storage inside and it comes with extra filters. It cleaned and picks up dirt very nicely. Something I don’t like : this thing is loud!! It sounds like a mini train rolling around my house. It pretty unbearable to have it on when home. It also constantly tries to throw itself off a cliff and into my backyard when the door is open even though there is supposed to be detection for that.

Vary handy base emptying vacuum but you still need to blow out bin and filter every week which kind of defeats the purpose

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Cleaning just got easier with my Roomba Max 705. As a mom of 5 kids and 2 furry pets I find myself cleaning my floors multiple times a day. Now it’s safe to say I have one less thing to do on my to-do list. The set up process was simple as it doesn’t come in multiple pieces where you have to struggle to put it together. The Roomba app is also easy to use. Very straightforward and a breeze to connect/map out the floor. I’m very impressed with how well it picks up messes even from carpets. Nothing was left behind as it really gets into every corner and even underneath my furniture. I have a cat and a dog who shed constantly and it picked up their fur. Once cleaning is completed it returns back to the dock to auto empty. I can finally put away the broom and let my Roomba work. It has honestly been a lifesaver in our busy household.

Well first of all this is the first time i have ever owned an iRobot so this roomba max 705 vacuum robot has made my life more easier when it comes to cleaning my home now. It's really simple to put together like literally you don't have to do anything just download the app and put it to charge and then let it get to explore your home so he can vacuum it. The battery is great can't complain about it. Love that the vacuum empties himself without you doing anything just take the bag when it's full. I recommend this vacuum so much if you are a busy person or just need some help cleaning your floors this is perfect and so convenient.

Quick simple setup, great results!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It’s so simple to set up & begin charging. Once I had the app downloaded I quickly created a map to set up an automation rule. Worked perfectly at the exact time I scheduled it. It followed the map and vacuumed the areas I chose. It cleaned up all the pet hair and dirt on my hard floors. It moved over rugs easily. Recognizes furniture and cleans easily under dressers & tables. This is a great way to keep your floors maintained without any effort! Once it was done it docked and emptied itself, so convenient! My dog is still trying to figure it out LOL. But I’m very happy with the results!

Jet Engine in my House
I have been a very loyal Roomba customer. Over the years I have had several Roomba's. I bought my 705 (vacuum only) from IRobot this past November. It is so loud you can't stand being in the house, much less the room. My Golden Retriever's fur (during shedding time), gets wrapped inside the roller so badly that it actually heated up and caused some melting of plastic. While other model had some issues with wrapped hair this is well beyond prior models. Also the entire unit feels significantly lighter than prior models and not as well made. The J8+ I had for years was heads and shoulders above this model. I can't stress how loud this is. For comparison with the j8+ the TV went up to a volume of 28 from our normal 16. The 705 is so loud that at a volume of 48 you still cannot hear what is said when the robot is in the room with you. Hate to say this but I'm calling this a waste of of my money and time and buying another brand and the 705 will be donated or given to someone who can run it while away from home and has no long haired dogs.

Not near as good as the S series
The whole 705 system is less effective than the previous system. The vacuum is not efficient and leaves simple items and leaves dog hair. It does not negotiate unto rugs well. The app is not to the standard set by the old app. No notice of full filter or clogs. Not really user friendly. I swear the machine is afraid of its shadow. It does not approach furniture or people as close as it could. It will divert around people but not try to go back through that area on the next pass. While better than nothing it simply does not match up to the previous Roombas (3) I have owned.

Better than our last but has a major drawback
This model is overall not bad. It's quieter, cleans better, and has better mapping. However unlike our last roomba, this one does not have a full bin detector and will continue to run till you notice it's not doing anything. I can't tell you how many times it has ran and the bad and roomba were full of husky fur and not doing anything.

Keeps getting stuck
I recently wanted to replace my E5 Roomba and purchased the 705. It's terrible - it get stuck on chairs, baseboards, going from tile to carpet, just about everything. I've tried everything and can't get this thing to work. It's going back.

Robot is stuck "on" and won't turnoff.
I have had horrible luck with this new 705. My original IRobot was fantastic but this one gets lost, stuck, and is now stuck on, running upside down. All safety features seem to be inoperable. Even trying to turn it off by the app has failed. Buy at your own risk.

This product cleans with a fresh lemony scent
I bought this product in October. My first unit failed and flooded the base. irobot replaced that product and shipped me a 2nd unit. That unit arrived with a broken base so irobot replaced that unit and shipped me a 3rd unit. The 3rd unit now will not power on; so rather than granting a refund irobot is sending me... a 4th replacement. Not sure if this qualifies as a lemon, but it sure smells like one. I've not had any one of these products for 60 days but I'm no longer in the 60 day refund window... a fantastic technicality to the refund policy. Each of those shipments took 7-14 days... I attached a picture of the power light not turning on. For your enjoyment! If you enjoy troubleshooting, remaining on the phone with tech support for extended periods of time, and driving back and forth to the UPS store; then this product is for you.

First Robot Vacuum and love it
This is my first one. It was easy to set up. Mapping was simple and using the app is simple. The different grades of cleaning selection is helpful and the deeper clean modes do a better job. It does have to charge multiple times during a cleaning if doing most of my house on the smart clean or deep clean mode, but I am not having to vacuum and it is a job well done. I am happy with it! My husband just keeps saying...nice call on the robot vacuum!

Useless product!
This product is almost completely useless. It took ages to successfully map my home- because it struggles to return to the dock- despite connecting with it and starting charging it then often pulls away to 'search' for the dock again. I contacted customer support, it took them a week to say "oh, it is because you have a dark grey carpet, it can't handle those"... WHAT?

Do not purchase if have pets
We have 3 dogs and this vacuum does not do a good job. We bought this intending for it to just keep the hair under control while we still use our regular vacuum regularly. However, even with us physically vacuuming, it clogs up all the time. Also we mainly bought this to detect objects and go around them. Well one of our dogs has a sensitive stomach and had a huge accident and this vacuum went through it and dragged it all through our house. I do not recommend this vacuum - especially if you have pets.

New Roomba, Big Disappointment: My 2019 Model Outperforms T
We bought this Roomba during the Black Friday sale of 2025 and it has been nothing but frustration. Our older 2019 original Roomba works far better than this new model, which is disappointing considering the price and newer technology. The system constantly malfunctions. Even after cleaning everything carefully: wiping the sensors, emptying the bin, checking for debris, it keeps saying the docking station is full when it isn't. It often claims it can't map the room, even though our Wi-Fi is strong and the software is fully updated. We've tried every fix: unplugging and resetting the dock, reconnecting the app, restarting the unit, nothing solves the problem. Another issue is the audio. The docking station is extremely loud, like a small airplane, which we are fine with, but the robot's voice is so quiet you can't hear what it's trying to tell you. The app also glitches and doesn't communicate clearly with the vacuum and mop. The mop solution doesn't smell very pleasant, but you're limited to using their brand because of the technology in the machine. They state that any other cleaner could damage the system. For the cost, we expected a reliable upgrade, not something worse than our older model that has been through years of use and still works perfectly. Right now we've gone back to using the old Roomba and are just moving it room to room because this new one can't do its job. I would honestly recommend choosing the original, less expensive version. Less technology is far superior. The higher-priced models don't perform nearly as well, and the simpler, cheaper Roomba will likely last you far longer than two months without constant issues. Save your money and go with what actually works.

Worst Roomba Ever.... and i mean it
This Roomba 100 (1000) series Vac/combo robot - SKU -Q352020 - Serial Number Q352020N250801N100983 - has the following problems and I have reached out to IRobot but they offer no help and support. 1) First 90 days the robot worked ok, it continued to get lost and it would stop randomly in the middle of the floor "looking for home" and we would just pick it up and put it on the charger - but this robot would de-dock and move off the charger then sit there running "looking for home" then run out of battery 2) after trying to reposition it numerous times to other locations so it can find it's home it still gets within 6" and tries to dock 6-7 times before running out of battery. Then when it is put back on the charger - it de-docks and runs out of battery again. 3) the vacuum performs poorly on carpet and ok on hardwood 4) the rollers are very sensitive to hair and wrap around the rollers - i am constantly cleaning the rollers. My biggest complaint iRobot is that i traded in a older model that worked well for the rebate and the newer version and now i am left with this constant issues.
