A: The internet isn't required to run the device. When you get ine, you can unbox it, plug it in until fully charged, then press "clean", and it will! All without having connected to the internet.

However, this map is created during a dedicated mapping session and does not update in real time while cleaning. Instead, the robot builds a static map that you can view and customize in the SharkClean app, such as labeling rooms, setting no-go zones, and scheduling cleanings. If you're used to vacuums that show live progress during cleaning, this model doesn't currently support that feature.

I bought this about 9 months ago to replace a Shark that I had for 3 years that was Magnificent, it’s vacuumed every morning, I emptied it every evening and used air compressor on Sundays to give it a good dusting. This Matrix is absolute junk! I spend more time emptying a dust pan that’s empty and trying to figure out what’s wrong with it than it spends vacuuming. I have to empty it, nothing in there, 3 times before it will do its job. Most of time there are spots on the floor it misses. Don’t waste your money on this model.

Cleans dog hair off my floor!
Makes life easier if you have a toddler and a 50lb dog with a double coat. I ran it for the first time on a Saturday. It did take 4 hours to finish my house with 1 recharge in between, but it saved me so much time and energy! I was able to clean other things in my house. And one less thing to do. New staple, glad I purchased. It is loud on the floors and when emptying.

I Love this Robot Vac!
I have only had “Maxine” for a short time, I have used it twice to clean my entire home. It is amazing how clean it gets my hard floors. It is so easy to map the house and have it clean. So far everything has worked perfectly. The setup was easy, it is easy to clean it up. It says to clean it once a month but it is so easy I just clean it after it docks. The battery lasts about 1 hr 45min which is enough to clean my home, it takes 1hr 21min to clean mine, and very well. It is not as loud as a normal vacuum, I don’t find it too loud at all. The only thing is the side brush gets stuck on my flat rug when it comes out from under the couch but I just help it get over that spot then it moves on.

This thing is junk. It was great at first but now doesn’t work well and won’t vacuum my whole house without returning to dock. It also won’t remap my house anymore either. I’ve tried all of the steps online and it still will not work correctly. It’s also had a squeaky wheel since i bought it. I’ll never buy one again

Brush roller sucks brush not stiff enough
Brush, roller socks, barely picks up, fluffy dog hair off of carpet. It will go over the fluffy dog hair, three or four times and it will still be on the carpet. Vacuum is great app is great. Roller and suction sucks.They need to improve on the stiffness of the brush and suction

not compatible with google home assistant

Never worked
Had this for less than 6 months and got the same error every.single.time. Unfortunately, I didn’t open it for a year due to building a house and by the time I was fed up, it’s out of warranty. I called and they told me it’s an error they can’t fix and since I’m out of warranty there’s nothing that can be done. Absolute waste of $300.

Very unhappy
Very unhappy with my Matrix. Even with max suction it doesn't pick up a small bit of cat hair let alone get down deep into the carpet. The brush doesn't come past the vacuum body so not surprised that it doesn't pick up anything.

Piece of junk
The vacuum suction is actually pretty good. The problem is it won't actually vacuum. It gets stuck on the edge of stairs rather than turning around. It bumps until things and then freezes rather than banking up. The app takes forever to "find" and position the robot. I've tried for months to try and make this thing work decently and it just won't. Battery life is terrible too if you do get it running.

It's a big help in a busy household!
This is the second robot vac I've owned in 5 yrs. The last one was an iRobot model that couldn't keep up with my fast paced home. After about 1.5 yrs it took a dive down my steps-game over. I truthfully wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money on another but working as much as I do and also keeping up with 3 teenage boys, 4 dogs and a long haired cat just wasn't feasible. This seems to be well made and has the added perk of self emptying, a feature my prev robo vac did not have. It does do a good job and covers quite a bit of floor (living room, kitchen & hallway) with a full battery. I did deduct a star bc I didn't realize the height of the robot was too tall to go under my couch and loveseat! What a bummer bc the underside of my furniture is visible when going up the stairs. That being said it isn't a big enough deal for me to return the item... I'll just sweep under the furniture first. This has, without a doubt, helped keep up with every day traffic dirt.

Great for double-coat dog!
Replaced old robot of another vendor and have been using for several weeks on hardwood floors and area rugs. Really like the option of “matrix” cleaning when I want an area cleaned twice. However, regular cleaning mode and normal (vs max) suction level clean well particularly given my double-coat dog. It’s nice to have these options.

The jury is still out. My old shark robot has two brush feet and seemed to pick up more stuff! From emptying, it doesn’t appear that this robot is picking up hair.

Focus on tech, not enough focus on functionality
I bought a shark years ago when they came out, worked great, easy to troubleshoot and very long lasting. This version has been nothing but issues. Sub par suction, doesn’t detect dirt well, and now currently will not charge, I have had this less than a year and do not have carpet. I also have this set up in a space of about 700 square feet so the bar is pretty low. I would not recommend this product at all and next time will be buying something else.
