A: Yes, this unit can read in either Fahrenheit or Celsius. There is a switch inside of the battery compartment that will change the thermometer to the temperature scale you want. I would highly recommend if you don’t want to wake them in the middle of the night to check the temperature. It is fast and non-contact. The light turns on to point the middle of the forehead and beeps within 2 seconds once temperature has been taken. It is color coded for fever guidance, green, yellow and red. Easy to use and very accurate. Uses two small triple AAA batteries.

I’d give this a 0 if I could Super inaccurate ! Wasted time and money because it kept saying my son had a 106 fever even when I took the battery’s out and he in fact did not.

Works better than 99% on market

Every time a kid gets sick, I end up trying three different ones just to make sure the number is real. My favorite has always been an ear thermometer because it’s the most accurate for us. I got this Braun No-Touch Forehead Thermometer as a gift, and wow — I wasn’t expecting to love it this much. It’s actually as accurate as our ear thermometer, which is a huge deal for me. The readings have been spot on every single time. It also feels really nice in the hand — light but solid — and it’s insanely easy to use. You can do touch or no-touch, it reads instantly, and the color-coded screen makes it super clear if the temperature is fine or if I should worry. When you have a sick kid who’s half asleep, this makes things so much easier. Honestly, it’s the first forehead thermometer I actually trust.

The no-touch feature is honestly a game changer — I can check temps without waking anyone up (even the world’s lightest sleeper 😂). It’s super fast too… like literally one second and boom, you have your reading. The screen changes color so I instantly know what’s going on — green, yellow, red — no guessing, no squinting, no panicking. 🙌 And can we talk about how clean it feels?? The biggest win, hands down, is the no-touch functionality. Being able to get a reading while my little one is finally asleep, without nudging them and restarting the whole sleep saga, is priceless. The display is super clear and I love that the background light changes color (green, yellow, red)—it's such a simple, immediate visual cue when you're half-asleep and trying to figure out if you're dealing with just a small fever or something more serious. In terms of ergonomics, it feels great in the hand - not flimsy or cheap - and the aiming system is intuitive. It's really quick to figure out the right distance. Which leads to speed: it's nearly instant. You press the button and boom, you have a reading. There's no waiting around, which is essential when you have an unhappy patient. Finally, comfort is huge. For the person being checked, it's totally non-invasive. No cold contact, no holding it in place. It's just a quick flash of light. It’s reliable, fast, and has made those dreaded nighttime checks so much less stressful. Worth the money, definitely.

The best one I have used
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] At first I thought this was broken because it immediately read “error”, but after reading the instructions it just needed to get to room temp before it able to give an accurate reading. This is very easy to operate and is portable. It takes the persons temperature instantly.
