Based on your description, here are the most common reasons and suggested solutions for a loud ice maker: Normal Operation: It's important to know that ice makers do have periods of activity even when not making ice. The compressor and fan motor will cycle on and off to maintain the freezer's temperature, which can produce a humming or buzzing sound. This is normal. Restricted Airflow or Dirty Components: The most common cause of unusual or excessive noise is often related to airflow or component issues. Dirty Condenser Coils: When the coils at the back or bottom of the appliance get dusty, the compressor and fan have to work harder, which can make them louder. Faulty or Obstructed Fan: A fan motor that is failing or a fan blade that is hitting an obstruction (like a wire or built-up ice) can create a loud buzzing or grinding noise. Doesnt make ice
I was skeptical to purchase this as some reviews were poor, but the ice maker went out on my fridge so I needed a quick solution. This came and I set it up according to the directions. It has only made 2 baskets of ice in 3 days. It is ridiculously loud and sometimes water pours from the spout, instead of ice. This is a horrible product that doesn’t do what it’s intended to do. DO NOT BUY!

Solid Compact Ice Maker
2nd review and took a chance based on prior review. . Unit is compact and fit and finish are very precise. Was a little noisy at first but after a couple of hours it settled down with only a tolerable light fan sound. It makes the nuggets pretty quick and the bucket filled up in about two hours. It appears well insulated too and has a slow melt rate. The unit is a nice addition to my home bar.

As an early Christmas present, I gave this. The manufacturer promptly and at no cost replaced the first unit that had a sensor problem! I’ve loved the second one! Despite being regarded as "small," it produces a lot of ice and is perfect for our family of four all day long. Because it generates ice more quickly than we can use it, it frequently switches to standby mode. Additionally, people of all ages can operate it with ease!

For a home full of ice "crunchers," it’s ideal. All we have to do is keep in mind that it’s time to refill whenever the empty light turns on. There is no need to connect a water line, and it is very simple to use. Although I wish I had gotten a bigger model with a water line, this one is ideal. Every day, my spouse and children consume over 20 pounds of ice!
