Ultra Power too much for Ruggables
This is a tremendous vacuum that was sucking debris up 1/2 inch from the brushroll. The issue is that it was too powerful for my washable area rugs and they would get caught in the brushroll and it would stop making it useless for me. For anyone reading, it’s powerful with a big dustbin, but that power comes at the price of its size. It’s tall, the grips are large, and it’s less than nimble to maneuver. I love Shark and will be buying another Shark vac, but this one is a return.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re sad that it didn’t work well with your washable area rugs and wasn’t the right fit for your space, and you have returned as a result of this. We understand how frustrating it is when a product performs well in some ways but doesn’t suit your specific needs, especially when maneuverability and usability are so important. Your feedback is really important and it will be shared with our teams in charge of product development. Kind regards, Shark Clean

Shark - don't get something stuck in the roller
PrProsPPwpROOSALKDJ Pros - quiet, easy to empty, suction. Cons - Roller access! hardest to find allen wrench just to check what stopped the roller. Steering is clunky. Cord is about a foot too short.

Good suction ability, cheap plastic
Excellent suction abilities, cheap plastic feel. The part of the handle where attachments connect actually broke during my first use of it on stairs! Still works, but for the amount of money spent on this vacuum, it’s terribly disappointing to have such poor quality plastic used.

Good until it’s not.
Bought 2 years ago…PowerFins are worn away. PowerFins also sucked up rug corners, shredding rug. I want bristles back. Seems I’m buying a new Shark Vacuum every 2 or so years because something wears out. I have 3 in basement from base not staying connected electrical ly to head.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re devastated to hear about the wear on your PowerFins and the damage to your rugs, we understand how frustrating and disappointing this must be, especially after only a couple of years of use. PowerFins and similar floor-contact parts can wear down over time depending on usage, and this type of wear is considered normal use, so it isn’t covered under the warranty. We know that’s not the answer you were hoping for, and we truly regret the inconvenience this has caused. We’d still like to review your situation and see how we can help. Please reach out to us through our contact page: https://support.sharkninja.com/contact-us Kind regards, Shark Clean

I seriously love this vacuum WHEN it works. I purchase in September of 2024 and have had to purchase three… yes THREE replacement parts for it. The brush roll works great but hair still gets clogged on the sides and cannot be removed. Two of the three is for issues with the wheels squeaking. Each replacement is $75. While I love the vacuum when it’s actually working, the constant need for replacing major parts isn’t worth the money of the vacuum.

Hello Taylor, Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. We understand how frustrating this situation must be, especially when you’ve had to replace multiple parts since purchasing your vacuum. This definitely isn’t the experience we want for you, and we appreciate you taking the time to explain the concerns with the brush roll and the recurring wheel issues. We’d love to take a closer look to see what would've caused this to happen and help get this experience turned around for you. Please give us a call at 1‑855‑427‑5127, where one of our product specialists will be more than happy to help review what’s going on with your unit and explore the best next steps. Vacuum Changed Specifications, Misleading
I received the Stratos as a replacement unit. My main issues are, this vacuum is NOT the same one as you see reviewed online for the past few years, it's a different vacuum, despite the model number still being AZ3002. The vacuum being sold now is a "X5" variant, which is not mentioned anywhere! I accepted this unit because I thought it was the Stratos reviewed, but apparently it's not. There have been silent changes, the unit now has a lower wattage motor(1300 Watts/11 amps), and a shorter cord of 25 ft vs 30 ft originally. Very misleading to keep the same model number, but change the core parts of the vacuum. The product page even references 11.8A, which is the old power figure, which is false advertising. I asked for a different unit instead once I found out, and wasn't able to get one, because it was listed as an upgrade, which the original Stratos would have been, but this isn't. Be aware of this during warranty replacements, especially if you already have the Stratos, you'd receive a lesser unit. As for performance, it's ok. Not much better than my old Shark Vertex, it rolls on the carpet more easily than it which had the first generation powerfins duoclean head(blue), but it doesn't feel like it suctions as well. Picks up ok though. The brushhead doesn't contact the floor as tightly it feels like. I did pick up a number of finer sand though. These early powerfins designs don't last though if you vacuum regularly(once a week), they will wear down quickly, even on carpet. The hose is decently flexible compared to previous models, which were stiffer. I'm not a huge fan of the blue, it would have been nicer if they still sold the maroon color. Feels well built, but I don't like how the attachment holders don't have the slots for the tools, it's just a stub with raised bits, which feels like it would crack the attachments that are weaker over time. My one main gripe about this vacuum, the cyclone is terrible. Compared to my previous Shark, the cyclone quickly dirties and it dirties the filters instantly. Be prepared to have to constantly wash these filters. I don't even want to use the vacuum because of this. It's also a little louder than my previous Shark. Other changes, the front soft roller no longer has the rougher black lines of the Vertex head, it's all ultra-soft. That can be a positive or negative, it's a negative for me since I have mostly carpet. On a positive note, I really did enjoy the power brush attachment. It worked well, and it worked nicely on stairs without being too much of a chore. This is basically the only thing I really like about the vacuum. I would rate it a little higher if it weren't for the misleading business practices by Shark, this is NOT the same Stratos anymore, change the model number or keep the specifications the same, this is a newer "X5" version, and it's not mentioned anywhere, the regular consumer would not know, and in fact, there is "11.8 Amps" listed from the old product, so it's falsely advertised. I should've been given a different vacuum after figuring this out. I'm writing for more people to know. However, this vacuum is basically disposable, I'm probably only going to get another 2 years out of this before the PowerFins disintegrate again. I would have had better luck with the upgraded PowerDetect head vacuums possibly, or the true bristle brush legacy vacuums.

Hi there, Thank you for taking the time to share such a detailed review. We’re truly sorry to hear about the disappointment and confusion surrounding your replacement unit. We completely understand how frustrating it must feel to receive a vacuum that doesn’t match the specifications you expected, especially when the model number appears unchanged. Your feedback about the differences in wattage, cord length, and the “X5” variant not being clearly communicated is incredibly important, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration this caused during your warranty replacement experience. We also appreciate your thorough notes on performance, design differences, and filtration. This level of detail helps our team identify where updates or clarifications may be needed, both in how products are represented and in how replacements are handled. We’re glad to hear that the power brush attachment worked well for you, but we’re sorry that other aspects didn’t meet the standard you were hoping for. If you’d like to speak with us further, please reach out to us at: https://support.sharkninja.com/contact-us Kind regards, Shark Clean

A warning to those with pets
I purchased this vacuum nearly two years ago from Target. Marketed by Shark as a "HairPro" vacuum for folks with pets (we have two cats, and a dog that does not shed much), this unit is stated to have a self cleaning brush roll that "delivers powerful hair pickup without wrapping hair". That assertion (without wrapping hair) is absolutely false based upon my experience with this Shark product. The brushroll does allow hair to wrap around the end of the brushroll and it will render the unit unusable (red light will illuminate noting the brushroll is jammed). However, unlike every other vacuum I have ever used, Shark designed this PowerFins brushroll so it cannot be removed from the housing without breaking it. As a result, I have purchased two DuoClean PowerFins HairPro Floor Nozzle replacements at a cost of about $100 for each replacement (just check the Shark/Ninja website), the last of which was purchased in late November 2024. This past weekend the replacement purchased in November 2024 clogged and has now failed. Though Shark will likely respond to this review about "how concerned they are", and that they will "pass this feeback on", the consumer should look to reviews older than this that illustrate this exact issue has persisted for years and Shark contiunes to sell this model unchanged.

Hello Keith, Thank you so much for sharing your feedback. We're truly disappointed to learn that your Shark DuoClean Vacuum doesn't meet your expectations as hair wraps around the brush roll, which ultimately lead to the purchase of a replacement floor nozzle. We understand how frustrating this can be, when you're unable to effectively complete your cleaning tasks as the error code indicates a clog. We'll pass this information and take note of any similar issues to ensure our team is aware. We'd love to make this right and ensure we remain the trusted brand in your home. Kindly contact us at 1-855-427-5127, we're available Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. ET, and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET. Kind regards, Shark Clean.

Buyer of over 20+ years, very disappointed,
I purchased Jan 2026, I buy directly from their online store. I have purchased Shark vacuums for over 20 years and in the last 4 or 5 years I have noticed that each one gets worse and worse. They don't perform as advertised and from my past experience from having used them. Very disspointed, definately will do some research on other brands before I buy another Shark

Avoid if you have a lot of pet hair!!!
It works great the until the 2nd roller gets hair wrapped around it (2 months in our house) we bought this specifically because we have 2 shedding dogs and it advertises that it does well for hair. Nope! The 2nd roller gets clogged terribly and takes social torques screwdrivers to get out, as well as unplugging the motor from the motherboard. You need to completely disassemble the head unit to get it out. Great vacuum, but if you have a lot of pet hair it is not worth considering. Definitely buy something different!!!

Hi Ryan, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We’re really sorry to hear about the trouble you’ve had with hair buildup on the roller especially since you purchased this vacuum specifically for use in a home with shedding pets. We understand how frustrating it is when a product doesn’t perform as advertised, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to explain what you encountered. For safety and warranty reasons, we don’t recommend disassembling the unit on your own. If this issue occurs again or if you believe the product may be defective, we encourage you to reach out to our Shark Customer Support Team for assistance at 1-855-427-5127, available Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET. 2 within 6 months.
My second in 6 months. I returned the first within 30 days because it literally just stopped working. I could not get it to turn on. Thought it was a lemon so exchanged for another one. Now 3 months later this one is broken. For a $500 this is a huge disappointment. I had the older model of this vacuum for 8 years before it broke so I thought getting the upgrade version would be great and it’s far from that.

Hi Katlin, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand how disappointing this situation must be, especially after experiencing multiple issues in such a short period of time and when you had a long‑lasting, positive experience with a previous Shark model. Investing in an upgrade and having it fall short of expectations is incredibly frustrating, and this isn’t the experience we want our customers to have. We’d really like the opportunity to take a closer look and help determine the best next steps. Please contact our customer service team at 1‑855‑427‑5127, available Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET, and we’ll do everything possible to make this right. Good quality investment
I love my Shark Stratos . I have 3 dogs and have to vacuum more than most . I love the light on the front that helps me see debris that I normally wouldn’t. I’m grateful for a good quality vacuum and the warranty that gives me peace of mind on a more expensive investment in my home cleaning appliance.

Blew Me Away
Absolutely insane suction! Got this after having a Dyson v15 detect for 3 & 1/2 years. The Dyson also has great suction but not compared to this one! I accidentally sucked up part of the cord on my second day having it and uhhh it shredded it…. Now that’s some serious suction game! Thankfully Targets the best and allowed me to exchange it for a new one! I have three large dogs, all are very hairy! Two are short haired and the other is long haired, I vacuum every single day and I’m astonished by how much hair, dust and dander it picks up every time! I also have a mixture off all three floor types (hard floors, tile, carpet, area rugs) so that adjustment setting is so nice. Only downside of the vacuum to me is the fact it’s corded. It’s not a huge deal because the cord is quite long, I typically only have to switch outlets once when doing my entire 1,500 sq ft home. If shark wanted to really blow everyone out of the ballgame they would find a way to make this vacuum be cordless with an attachable battery pack. Entice buyers with an extra battery pack included in the “accessories” that come with the vacuum. I’ll take 15% of the profits Shark, I know you’re reading this!

Horrible vacuum
I have bought about 5 of these vacuums and they are terrible! When they are working they are great but the past 3 that I’ve bought stopped working after 3 months. I have a 1000sqft house and use it about 2x a week. I do all the regular maintenance of cleaning it, replacing filters etc. After 3 months the brush rolls stop spinning. Seriously the worst vacuum and I will never buy another shark. I’ve spend thousands at shark and still don’t have a working vacuum.
