A: This vacuum and the anti hair tangling brushroll has worked amazingly for our home! I was a skeptic as I have long curly hair and we also have a Great Pyrenees, but I haven’t had to clean the brush roll once yet and have been using it 1-2x times a week for over two months. Every other vacuum I’ve used I’ve had to clean the clogged brush roll every other use.

Great vacuum, attachments fall off though
This is the second shark vacuum I've owned and although I love them and would never switch brands, both drive me crazy how the attachments keep falling off while I'm trying to vacuum. I end up just leaving them off and eventually losing them. It seems like it would be such an easy fix. Make them snap in place or velcro or magnets anything besides the current design!

Great on Carpet and Hardwood Floors
Great on wall to wall carpet and hardwood floors. Difficult to run on thin throw rugs like Ruggables. It is so satisfying to see the dirt that this vacuum picks up. The cord, although plenty long enough is horrible. It is so stiff and is kinked, not soft and flexible like competing brands. Because it is so stiff and kinked, it tangles and gets hung up around corner walls and furniture. I even trip on it. Shark needs to address this problem.

Great Vacuum!
I’m a vacuum cleaner enthusiast. So much so that I always visit the vacuum section in any department store. And I we love this machine. If it did any better it would vacuum the stains right out of the carpet. And sometimes after I finish cleaning with it. I swear it has done just that. Now that we own this. Me and my husband fight over who gets to vacuum the house. Because we love this product so much!

Waste of money
This vacuum has issues sweeping up fine debris such as dust and sand. Big stuff it sweeps up OK. Be prepared to go back-and-forth over a spot repeatedly to get most of the items picked up. The rubber marking on the wand hose has already started to fall off. The attachments do not stay on the vacuum they're constantly falling off and not convenient. It cannot handle picking up objects like small stones/a bead from a weighted stuffed animal. The the sweeper has already thrown a fit multiple times. The sweeper will stop on working and you have to turn it on and turn it off again. The sweeper will stop working. It also has issues with lightweight rugs. It also does not handle the texture of water hog mats.

No doubt about the cleaning ability of this beast
Have had for a month and all I can say is this thing is a beast. First use and I thought my carpet was clean till I saw what this was pulling up. The suction is amazing. Now back to it being a beast. It’s heavy and not easy to maneuver. This is not for the weak or elderly. It’s a workout with every use. But clean carpets and hardwood floors is what you’ll get. The hose has almost no stretch when you detach the tank, but maybe with time it’ll not be so cumbersome to use.

low quality cord and not good detect feature
I don't think the detect feature works well. When I'm vacuuming on high pile carpets, it doesn't move to that level, but keeps it at low pile carpet. Plus the cord is very rigid and not easy to work with.

The Shark PowerDetect — A Domestic Thriller
This vacuum is the best thing I own, and I’m genuinely concerned by how much I enjoy using it. It has the aggressive, "move-over-or-die" energy of a lifted Dodge Ram—the headlights are so unnecessarily bright they don’t just find dust; they expose the sins of the previous homeowners. The Auto-Detect feature is pure dopamine. The second it hears a crumb, it revs its engine like it’s at a drag strip, and I’ve never felt more powerful. The only downside? It fills up after exactly one room. It is both incredibly satisfying and deeply insulting to realize I’ve been living in a literal dirt pit this whole time. I’m currently averaging three trips to the trash can per floor, and honestly? I’m not even mad. Buy this if you want to be blinded by LEDs and humbled by your own carpet.

Just stop working
I bought this earlier this year and I went to use it and its like there is no power going to it but I checked and it is plugged in, If this has happen to anybody please tell me how to fix this. I paid alot for this

WORST VACUUM EVER
tPurchased Oct 2025. Constant problems. Will turn completely off after about 5 min run time. The selection buttons on handle does not go to the right settings. Now is vibrating so it's chugging across carpet. Has no suction. The vacuum has been the WORST vacuum I've ever used. And I've been a shark owner for over 20 years. And their website has no chat features or phone number. I really feel like I've been taken advantage of by a dishonest business.

Worst vacuum cleaner don't recommend
I brought one of these and it didn't last a day. It started smoking up my room after one day. I WAS NOT offered a warranty for it nor was I offered any replacement parts for it. Also hair keept getting caught up in it as well. Overall I had to throw it away due to no warranty or replacement parts. I would love either a new one or replacement for it. I can't get through to the number you all gave me on hold for at least 15 -20 mins.

Hands down - Dyson is Better
I had a Dyson Ball and my daughter and her husband thought I needed a Shark Powerdetect. They were very wrong. I didn’t need a workout but that’s what I got with the Shark. Hands down the Dyson Ball is better. The Shark kept trying to change from low pile carpet to either floor or thick carpet/area rug; the carpet is the same throughout the house , low pile. Going forward the automatic worked ok but when vacuuming I tend to go back and forth, especially in smaller areas. I would not recommend this product.

Wowzers, this vacuum really sucks!!
I had a Shark Navigator vacuum that I bought in 2018. I had always hated it. I felt like it was never cleaning the floors as much as it should. Well, it finally bit the dust a few days ago so we had to get something new. At first, I wanted a cordless vacuum but then my husband and I did some research and found that corded ones are still the best bet for powerful suction. After looking at several options, we decided to go with this model. We test vacuumed a few areas in our house not long after bringing it home. Whoaaaaaaa. Our minds? Blown! We both couldn't stop raving about it. This is a million times better than what we had. The vacuum is easy to glide along despite being heavier, the odor neutralizer filter seemed to refresh the rooms. Our 10 year old declared, "It smells better in here!" and holy suction! There was a surprising amount of dust that it collected when those areas seemed to look fine as they were because I had vacuumed with the Navigator before it decided to die. What a difference. We are impressed and look forward to having a vacuum that kicks a lot more booty this time around. My husband's words: "Well worth it." "You can tell it's from a higher quality range."

Trips breakers, sometimes the detect power kicks on, at times does not work in the upright position at all. I’ve always loved my shark vacuums but this one is a piece of c…. For the money paid. I will be returning and that will cost me money for the box.

Lasted Only 8 Moths
We had the vacuum since late April ‘25. It worked great. Now the roller brush doesn’t turn. Nothing is stuck in it. Unbelievable to have spent this much money for an 8 month life span. Do not buy this vacuum .

As a self proclaimed vacuum snob I LOVE it
Over the years I've had all types of vacuum cleaners and lately have been sticking to the Sharks. I've been happy with all of them but this one is fabulous ! All the details and customer complaints from previous Sharks have been attended to. It is lightweight but the suction is incredible. I just got it today but have been vacuuming like a fool and can't find anything wrong with it. Note please: do not vacuum your keyboard on the highest suction setting. It will suck the key caps right off. S is still missing

I bought this vacuum a couple months ago I love the way it sucks everything. Can not go over rugs tho because the suction is too strong. Unfortunately, my cord is already coming apart. I dont know what that is about and am extremely bummed as this is the first vacuum I really splurged on and I've loved it otherwise

Excellent suction
The suction on this vacuum is amazing. I replaced my very old upright because I wanted a detachable dust tank for vacuuming the steps as I am getting too old to try to balance the old upright on a step while vacuuming at the same time. The old vacuum had a dirt sensor just as this one does. I vacuumed a swath with my old vacuum until the dirt detector went to "green" i.e. no more dirt. The Shark pulled so much dog hair from that same swath I was simply amazed. The maneuverability of the swivel head is fabulous, and the vacuum almost feels like it is self propelled. The only negative I would comment on is to get some of the hair out of the dust canister I had to use the want that came with my carpet cleaner to get out, otherwise I would have had to reach my hand up to pull hair at the top of the canister.

I couldn't imagine you'd want or need a vacuum with any more power. Overall, I'm pleased with it so far. If I had to nitpick, I'd say the delay in turning it on and off is a bit awkward. You push the button and think, "Is it on?" then it comes on. You have to fight the urge to push it again. And the touch buttons that select the different modes are too sensitive. you accidentally hit them a lot. I preferred the slider that was on my Shark Apex. The sensors that do all the detection are nice but I question if they will last but I can't hold that against them. Time will tell
