Q: Does this vacuum tip over when using the hose with attachments
A: In my experience, yes, this vacuum tips over easily when using the hose with attachments. It's annoying enough that I would probably not purchase it again because of this (I do find its suction to be good and the filter and canister are easy to keep clean).
submitted bySam T - 3 months agoA: The vacuum should remain steady while using an attachment. Please avoid cleaning areas that are out of reach.

Q: Is this a powered lift away?
A: No, this vacuum is not a Powered Lift-Away model. It is an upright vacuum with a self-cleaning brushroll, but it does not feature the Powered Lift-Away functionality found in some of our other Shark models.

Q: Does the roller brush really self-clean for hair? I am so sick of cutting it off my current model.
A: I have 3 long hair dogs and this does a really good job of keeping the hair from wrapping. The only times I’ve had to remove anything was a long string of thread or something that wrapped up and dog hair then got caught in that. I clean off the brush roll when I do the filters and it’s never much and usually I can just pull it, no scissors needed.
submitted byHazeleyedhazard - 1 year agoA: We would like to let you know that this unit does have a self-cleaning brushroll. To keep hair off the brushroll, the self-cleaning brushroll has anti hair wrap strips that will constantly make contact with comb, creating a different tone from a traditional vacuum.

Q: Does the vacuums catch compartment filters be removed out of the catch compartment? Maintence hasn't been easy, I wasnt able to take the brush roll can that also be removed for better maintenance?
A: We would like to let you know that you can remove the foam and felt filter (located in the unit under the dust cup) to be able to wash the filters (with water only and allow to completely dry before putting back inthe unit). The brushroll is not a removeable part from the floor nozzle. To eaily remove hair and debris from the brushroll we recommend using scissors to cut any hair or strings to make easier to remove.

Q: The old style has a light in the front (so you can easily see dirt/hair as you run the vacuum). Does this model have a light?
A: No, the Shark ZU51 does not have a front-facing light. While some older models included headlights to help spot dirt and hair, this model focuses on strong suction and advanced cleaning features instead.
