A: Hi Annie, to adjust the height on your BISSELL CleanView Max Lift-Off (model 3988), look for the height adjustment knob near the base of the vacuum. Turn the knob to the highest setting for high-pile carpet so the brush roll can move freely without getting stuck. Lower settings are for low-pile carpet or hard floors.

A: If the Tangle-Free Brush Roll on your CleanView Max Lift-Off vacuum (model 3988) has stopped spinning on rugs or upholstery, here are a few things to check: Brush Roll Switch – Make sure the brush roll is turned on if your model has a separate switch. Lift-Off Mode – If you're using the Lift-Off pod, the brush roll may not spin unless it's in floor mode. Winner of the Worst Vacuum Award
I never write reviews, but I had to share my loating of this vacuum to prevent others from my mistake. I have owned many vacuums over the past 30 years and this one ranks up there as one of the worst. It is a plastic mess. Very difficult to push and pull (and I lift heavy weights 3x a week) and the handle feels like it will come loose after a period of use. The brush attachment is a joke, one use and the bristles are shot. I got sick of my Shark vacuums being disposable after 5 years so I thought I would give this one a try, many regrets, I will try to repair my Shark.

This cleaner is fantastic. I see some reviews rated less, but for me it’s a godsend. I had a high end Dyson that was awful and that’s in the dumpster. I don’t know how long this one will last but the price was incredible and the suction power is better than any vacuum I’ve had in the past. I recommend it highly!

VAC picks up well. Smaller brush VAC for awareness for large carpeted areas. It is heavy to push! Surprised by that. For a smaller look VAC. It is not lightweight. My shoulder actually protested the first time. So if you have shoulder issues this is not the VAC for you. Otherwise a good VAC. Left nice vacuum marks. And lift away was easy.

Out of the box, the brush would randomly stop. Turn it off then back on and it would turn for a few seconds then stop. Returned after the first use.

100% worth it. Let me preface by stating I vacuum at least once daily if not more, as a mom of three and previously home to three animals. This vacuum replaced a 10 year old+ Dyson pet vacuum, and all I can say after the initial use was EW. I’m appalled by everything that was being left behind. This thing is STRONG. It’s lightweight, easy to move around and powerful. I will say though, I do agree with other reviews stating the hose isn’t long enough, along with the cord- I wish it had a longer cord. Also the sturdiness of the vacuum base while using the hose could be better. It does topple over frequently. I don’t use the turbo attachment often because the bristles don’t spin easily. Regardless of all of that, I would absolutely recommend and will continue to be in awe by the power this appliance carries.

Don't buy this!! I bought it this morning and I already returned it, on first use it was making a horrible screeching sound and smelled like burnt rubber. I cleaned each part of it multiple times, but it seems like the motor was defective or something.
