Not nearly what you expect.
I’m having buyer’s remorse. Always trusted Kitchen Aid brands, but very disappointed with this experience. Bought this for my wife’s birthday and had nothing but trouble. Bowl doesn’t fit properly. Rubber stirrer attachment is tearing and the tearing pieces are hanging above the food we are preparing to eat. Also to much prep for such a small amount of finished product. Then to beat all, calling for help was more complicated than making the ice cream.

Cracked after two uses
I was super excited about this. I love my KitchenAid mixer. The bowl was great and the batch of ice cream that it made the first time was wonderful. But the second time I used it plastic attachment cracked. Cheaply made for KA, poor design I’m very disappointed will be returning

Poorly made
My fiancé bought me this for Christmas. I have used it twice and the bowl has a huge crack going across the bottom. I am very disappointed with the quality of this product and do not recommend it to anyone.

Cracked shell
Got this product for Christmas 2025 and the shell cracked and leaked fluid on the countertop and mixer. Third or fourth time using it. Major disappointment.

Works great
This attachment makes it easy to prepare homemade ice cream at home. I was originally hesitant to purchase because I was not sure if it would fit my kitchen aid mixer that is at least 18 years old. After digging deeper, the website and the box of the attachment list all models for which it’s not compatible which allowed me to make my purchase with confidence. I put the bowl in the freezer overnight and it was ready to use. Be sure to start the churn attachment as stated in the directions before adding the mixture of ingredients. It takes about 20 to 25 minutes to finish and the ice cream is st a soft serve consistency which I also love . I place it in freezer safe containers that I purchased and we have been enjoying creamy ice cream without all the extra additives. I look forward to trying more recipes.

DO NOT BUY! BUYER BEWARE!
Broke after one single use....Went to use it a 2nd time and saw that all the blue liquid managed to come out and then solidify leaving me with a mess to clean. Followed the cleaning instructions and everything.

Doesn’t last, sadly
After two years, the bowl is no longer freezing the ice cream. I used it successfully a bunch of times and now it’s not working. There is no damage that I can see, and I hear liquid in the bowl when I shake it. My freezer is -5°F. I called KitchenAid and they said I needed a new one, but didn’t offer any reason for it not working, nor any guidance on how to keep this from happening again.

Works great but zero instructions
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great attachment to add to my Kitchenaid collection and works a treat, if not more efficiently than I expected. My only complaint is that it comes with ZERO instructions other than how to fit the attachment to the mixer. The bowl has to be pre-frozen (which I learned from some self-research after opening the box and finding no information) and I still have no idea how long it needs to be pre-chilled to be effective so I have just been defaulting to leaving it in the freezer overnight, which means there is some forethought needed. This is not a tool that supports spontaneity in the kitchen. I would have expected a small booklet with some basic usage instructions/guidance and maybe some standard recipes or ideas to get people inspired. Overall a good investment but lacks in the 'customer experience' department.

Ice cream Game Changer

I made the Vanilla Bean Ice Cream that was demonstrated on KitchenAid Academy and it turned out fabulously. It originally looked to be complicated but it certainly was not and everyone enjoyed it. The bowl we all need!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I had been debating whether to get the ice cream attachment for a while because I had another one from a different brand. There was a good sale so my husband bought it for me and I'm so glad he did. It's terrific! It makes delicious ice cream with an excellent consistency. It's easy to use and clean. The only reason why I gave it 4 stars overall rather than five is because it's a little bit bigger than my other one and so it doesn't fit into my freezer as easily. Having said that though, it is definitely a superior product.

Icecream radiances
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I waited for the black Friday sale and it was so long until that happened and in the meantime I was able to save up for it. I thought it was extremely expensive but I read some of the reviews and I look at the design and I like the colour as well. Not only is it functional practical? It is really stylish and the curve of the design is very feminine it makes delicious ice cream and I feel so healthy doing this at home with no preservatives. What a great invention. What a delight to own and to be able to be creative and add various fruits to my ice cream and toppings and chocolate Treats.
