submitted byAlso Leslie - 8 years agoA: i needed it to fit my k-5 lift not tilt, it didn't. i don't think it will fit your 4.5. a warning tho, there is another company that has a wider selection of scaper paddles-they're plastic. so far i have broken 2 on cookie batters that weren't really all that stiff. i called kitchenaid, they don't make one for me, but might for you.

The paint chips off into your food & the rubber spatula cracks off. Need a beater without paint!!

If beater is chipped adjust the mixer head
It is very important to check the angle of where your mixer is in relation to the bowl. If white part of the beater touches the bowl at any time in the rotation it will start to chip off the white enamel coating. I learned this the hard way. There is a screw at the base of the main mixing body that can adjust the mixer. There are lots of videos out there that can walk you through it. Hope this helps someone :)

Great for breads
(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Got it for my birthday! The Empire Red color is such a classic and I love it. I have been on a baking spree since and it makes baking so much simpler and enjoyable by doing a lot of the heavily lifting. I have made some high hydration doughs for breads and it did just fine, just make sure to not exceed 2 speed.

Great mixer, replaced a 30+ year mixer
What better way to celebrate one year with my mixer than use it for Thanksgiving treats! During the past year the "little guy" has worked tirelessly kneading bread dough, mixing countless cookies, working up fresh pasta and beating egg whites into meringue. This is my second Kitchen aid mixer, replacing a 30+ year lift mixer that I gave my son.

So much sturdier than the cheap one I used to hover the paddle attachment with the rubber scraper does a nice job so you don’t have to stop and scape the bowl so often. It’s definitely worth getting the slider pad for underneath it otherwise it’s tough to move.

Expected better quality from KitchenAid
Visited your website to be sure I had the right item to replace my Flex Edge Beater. I'm replacing the one I purchased in August of 2021. I noticed the plastic coating bubbling up and then peeling off but figured it must be coming off in the dishwasher. Then I saw a white flake on the top of a cookie as I was taking the sheet pan out of the oven. I was surprised to see how many other people have experience the same problem! Really, I expected better quality from KitchenAid
