Q: What is the clearance for Travel Mugs? Can I use a 7" mug, is it taller or shorter?

A: Chuck, In order to clear the nozzle and hopefully without spilling while tilting cup too much to pull out: With the tray, max height is 5.25". Without the tray, max height is 6.25".

A: Yes, the Cuisinart Single-Serve Grind and Brew Coffee Maker (Model DGB-2) is compatible with K-Cup pods, including Keurig-branded ones. It offers three brewing options: amazon +1 Freshly ground beans using its built-in conical burr grinder. Pre-ground coffee using the included HomeBarista reusable filter cup. Single-use coffee pods, such as K-Cups.

Q: Is there any restrictions for the type of coffee you can use? Dark, medium. I know I had an $800 De’ Longhi that they said not to use dark because of the oiliness of the coffee.

A: Hello- There is not, but keep in mind darker roast beans are oilier which will require the grinder to be cleaned more option.

I was so pleased when I saw that Cusinart makes an all in one grind and brew. I already own a Cuisinart coffee grinder, 12 cup coffee maker, air fryer, non stick pots and pans and countless other small appliances and utensils. I replaced my current single cup brewer (K) with the grind and brew. Not only is the Cuisinart faster but actually brews a better cup of coffee. And now being able to grind the perfect amount of beans I don’t have to pre grind them. This machine is sleek, stylish, perfectly sized to stay out in the counter top and works flawlessly. I am so glad I got it before the holidays because it sold out in black within a week of me purchasing it. I have already recommended this and the larger grind and brew to at least 2 dozen friends and family and a few already purchased it upon trying mine. If you like fresh ground and brewed coffee Cuisinart is the way to go. Not just for the amazing low price but the quality and attention to detail like the storage slot for the grinder filter and holder.

This unit makes very good coffee, but the grinder spills grounds on the plate beneath. I estimate that if you make around ten cups of coffee, the wasted grounds would be enough to make one more cup.

Love it. Plus a couple caveats
I love the ability to freshly grind beans right before each cup of coffee. It is very simple and quick to brew a cup and the temperature is just right. A couple of areas for improvement: getting the beans into the hopper is a trick. It took me a while, but I figured out a system that is 90% full proof. But may be a funnel shaped bean hopper would be a better idea. Also, the grounds just leak out of the burr onto the drip catcher and then kind of eventually gather all around the spot where I keep my coffee maker. I believe all burger grind makers do this though. There are different tricks you can use to minimize the mess.

Leaks
I’ve had mine for awhile but it leaks from the inside. Makes a mess not sure how to fix it cause I loved it otherwise . It was a gift from my daughter that’s the only reason I still have it :(

Great cup of coffee
This coffee maker does what it states. Grinds and brews a great cup of coffee. I was tired of my Mr coffee I was wasting too much and I like this machine it’s quick hot and just the right amount.

Not worth the price.
Not happy with this purchase. Makes a big mess when using the grinder function and leaks water/coffee grounds when making a cup of coffee. Very disappointed in this purchase and expected more from Cuisinart.

Fine machine for single serve coffee
Makes good coffee both ground no pod. I think the grinder put too much grounds in the filter. That said I usually run it twice thru the filter and get 16 oz of good offed.

Not worth it
I have had 3 of these (at least they replaced them) but they all end up doing the same thing. Basically "pop, burp blow up your pod". Then all the lights will flash.
