Q: I am having a problem with the pods lately. The coffee grounds come up through the top hole and go all over the top of the kcup. It goes into the coffee sometimes, too. Does anyone have this problem?

  • A: Have had this problem with another Cuisinart model, but it was the pods…some pods rip open at the top when you close the lid. I put a small piece of scotch tape over the tops and it solved the problem.

    Great coffee Maker

    So far a great coffee maker - both the carafe and K-Cup functions work great. it might leak when filling carafe reservoir for overnight storage, we had water on heater plate when started the brew process the next morning, but as I write this I realize I might have spilled a little water while filing the reservoir - Haven't trouble shoot the problem yet, if it is a problem.

    I'm loving this coffee maker!

    I love the design of this coffee maker. It's very leek and looks like one of those expensive espresso designs. We usually use the single side and because of its unique design which holds fresh filtered water, the coffee always tastes fresh and delicious. It's very accurate in measuring since the button has you choose 4,8,10, and 12 ounces. I read reviews about issues with leaking water but I feel as long as I register this product the company would follow through. Great product.

    BEST coffee brewer I've ever had, 2 ways!

    OUTSTANDING! I had a Cuisinart 12 cup coffee ginder/mill and it lasted every day, sometimes twice a day, for over 8 years and it was still going strong. May have lasted another couple years. You know how many times that ended up being used? That's at least 2,920 times without a problem of any kind. I will ALWAYS use a Cuisinart.

    I received this as a gift. I don't know if I got a lemon or all of them have the same problem. I read the instructions over several times, and to no avail. I tried the one cup maker and it literally exploded the coffee pod plus when I opened the lid coffee went all over my counter plus me. It's dangerous! Luckily I only had a minor burn on my finger. Also, it makes very loud sounds. The 12 cup coffee maker works, but is very noisy. If this is an issue with all SS-16 Series it's a problem that needs addressing immediately.

    Got as a gift and Love it! We replaced our keurig and can have the option of 1 cup or when we have family over, use the carafe. And coffee tastes much better with this maker

    Coffee maker with keurig

    I loved my cuisinart coffee maker I bought 20 years ago. It is still working but I decided to upgrade to a newer model with an attached keurig. It is fine. Just not as wow worthy as the old one

    grounds in each pot

    We are returning this coffee pot. Have it about 2 weeks, but every single pot has GROUNDS in it! It's horrible. How can they be selling this. I noticed so many other similar reviews. Wished I had checked first! Going back to the store! Good brand, bad coffee pot.

    We purchased this coffee maker and are pleased with the quality and performance One issue when you pour a cup of coffee you have to pour very slowly otherwise the coffee comes out to fast and spills over the top of the opening/lid.

    A Few Issues

    While making a K-cup it exploded inside and coffee grounds were everywhere. Another time brewing a pot of coffee, it didn't work properly and had coffee grounds all over. Not sure if it was operator error or machine malfunction. Haven't had the issue again so waiting to see if it happens again.

    Great Coffee Center for Awhile

    We recived this in September 2025 and have enjoyed it everyday! Three days ago it stopped working. The lights indicated it was on, but no coffee came forth. We are saddened by this and want it fixed, if possible. What to do?

    Great Coffee Maker

    Cuisinart makes the best coffee makers. I replaced my old Cuisinart after nearly 20 years. It was still working but I wanted to upgrade to the 2 in 1 model with single serve/carafe options. Its sleek design blended perfectly with my new stainless steel major appliances. And it makes great hot coffee. Would definitely recommend

    design flaw or malfunction causes a big mess

    Cuisinart 2 in 1 Coffee pot The good - The warmer for the pot works fine The bad - Both sides, the pods and the pot side are very slow compared to competitors machines. The pod side doesn't hold much water, competitors hold more. The pod side doesn't make coffee as hot as competitors, I have to microwave every cup. The worst part- Approx. twice a week, the pods wont drain fast enough. This blows the seal and top off the pods and causes a coffee ground filled waterfall down the front of the machine, a giant mess! I have had a little success with inserting the pod, then removing it and turning it to reload, putting multiple holes in the bottom of the pod. This helps a little. Obviously, something isn't right with the needle at the bottom of the pod holder. I see no damage, this may be the design. I cannot recommend this machine unless maybe you get it on clearance or if you have lots of time on your hands and only use the pot side.
