Q: Can this turn a premade shake that you buy in a carton into ice cream?

submitted by Partyof7 - 7 months ago
  • A: Hello, This unit features a milkshake setting that allows you to transform pre-made shakes from cartons into ice cream efficiently.

submitted byProduct Expert - 7 months ago
    Brand expert
  • A: Premade shakes can freeze into ice cream as long as the mixture is cold & not too watery. The FastFreeze chills the mixture quickly, but you still need the right thickness. You must adjust the shake a little: Premade shakes sometimes have: • Too much liquid, or • Stabilizers that resist freezing To guarantee good ice cream texture, do one of the following: Option A — Use as is (works most of the time) Just pour the cold shake into the machine. It will thicken and freeze into a soft-serve-like ice cream in 15–25 minutes. Option B — Thicken it slightly (best texture) Add any of these before freezing: • 2–4 tablespoons heavy cream, or • 1–2 tablespoons condensed milk, or • A bit of vanilla pudding mix (¼–½ teaspoon) This gives it a richer ice-cream consistency. Tips for Best Results: • Chill the shake in the fridge first; don’t use it warm. • Don’t overfill — keep it below the max line. • The machine usually makes soft serve, not hard-packed ice cream. For firmer ice cream, transfer it to a container and freeze 1–2 hours… ENJOY!!!

    Cheap, Weak, and Clunky

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Horrendous experience. I used it once and it worked really well so I filled the other cups with the same recipe and tried a second use today. Could not get the blender to come back up after reaching the bottom of the cup. Motor got very hot so I stopped, unplugged, and get the unit a few minutes. Plugged it back in and tried again, same thing. Motor is stuck halfway down and now the light won’t come on at all, making me think that the motor has burnt out. On the second usage, this is hugely disappointing. Only upside is that it was a gift so I don’t have to feel like I’m out the way over priced, cheaply made blender that need pre planning and a large amount of storage space in the freezer.

Thank you for sharing your experience with the FastFreeze™ Deluxe Bundle—we’re very sorry to hear about the issues you encountered so early on. If the motor overheats or becomes stuck, we recommend discontinuing use immediately, allowing the unit to cool fully, and ensuring the cup is not overfilled or frozen beyond the recommended time, as this can place added strain on the motor. Our Consumer Assistance Center can help review troubleshooting and warranty options at 1‑800‑726‑0190—please reference Ticket #8900644450 when calling. Thank you for your feedback, as it helps us make improvements on future models.

    Works very well

I considered a Ninja Creami, but the couldn't justify the expense. This works good for what I use it for (protein ice cream, frozen fruit, frozen yogurt). We have limited kitchen storage, so this is easy to put away after each use without taking up counter space. I like the serving size, as it makes just enough. The only drawback is cleaning: The spring is quite strong, making it difficult to keep the blades extended for rinsing/cleaning. Fortunately, I work for a plastics fabricator and made a device to push the blades out making it a bit easier to clean. Overall, I would recommend this.

    Easy ice cream

The recipes are easy to follow and the machine is easy to use. The ice cream is ready to be made after sitting in the freezer for a day. The machine takes a minute to set up and a minute to soften your mix. Cleaning is the only thing that isn’t easy. It’s a bit of a pain to push down on the cylinder to pop out the blade for cleaning. You need to be thorough, otherwise bacteria will grow.

    BEST HOMEMADE ICE CREAM EVER

I love the compact and portability of this machine! The cups are the perfect size for an early morning sweet or a late night craving! And it’s pretty quiet, so it doesn’t bother my family when it’s late.

Adorable & Perfect for Healthy Single Servings!

I recently purchased this Cuisinart Mini Ice Cream Maker, and it has been such a fun addition to my kitchen! First of all, the yellow color is absolutely stunning it really brightens up my countertop. What I love: • Perfect Size: As someone who likes to keep the kitchen organized, I love how compact it is. It’s very easy to store and doesn't take up much space at all. • Healthy Options: It’s been amazing for making low-sugar or dairy-free treats. I love knowing exactly what ingredients are going into my dessert. • Ease of Use: The setup is incredibly straightforward. The icons on the unit make it very intuitive to use right out of the box. A few tips for new users: The freezing bowl needs to be completely frozen (at least 18-24 hours) for the best consistency. Also, since it’s a "mini" model, it’s designed for single servings—perfect for a quick personal treat or for making a healthy snack for a child. Overall: If you're looking for a simple, cute, and effective way to enjoy homemade ice cream without the guilt of large portions, this is definitely for you. Highly recommended for small households!

Straight forward, easy to clean/store. Love it.

This appliance is really awesome. So simple to use and store. Uses the same tech as other, more bulky machines. It is a perfect way to make great ice cream or sorbet for one or two. Glad I took advantage of the offer to get five mixing cups.

Great ice cream with minimal effort

I am quite pleased with the fast-freeze ice cream maker. It’s fast and easy to use, the hardest part is waiting for the base to freeze for 24 hours. It is also much quieter than expected. It barely makes a sound. I have a very small freezer, so the small containers work well. Of course I’d love to have a bigger machine, but the size of this one is perfect for my space and my requirements

Great little machine, but not quite perfect.

Overall, great product, the only drawback is that it takes 24 HOURS to freeze the mix before you can use it with the machine, so the amount of prep time is actually more than using the regular machine, since you can just leave the tub in the freezer all the time.

I have a Cremi that my husband complains ever time I use due to the noise. The fast freeze makes the perfect one serving size without all the noise. It’s working out perfectly for me. I make a protein “ice cream” everyday for a treat.

    Smells moldy

This machine smells. Clean it after each use but it smells like mold. Cannot get it clean enough to use it

Thank you for sharing your feedback about the Cuisinart FastFreeze ICE-FD10. We’re sorry to hear about the lingering odor, as that can be frustrating even with regular cleaning. For best results, we recommend washing the mixing cups and lids thoroughly with warm, soapy water after each use and allowing them to air dry completely; periodically wiping the interior of the machine with a damp cloth can also help reduce residual odors. If the smell persists or you have any other concerns, please contact our Consumer Assistance Center at 1-800-726-0190.

    Compact

I recently purchased the ice cream maker and my first impression is that the part that you can't submerge in water but comes in contact with the ingredients should have a lock mechanism so that you can wash the metal much more easily. Otherwise, compact and provides the opportunity to make multiple options at once without making too much of each option.
