A: BPA free items may still contain other bisphenols line BPS. BPA free does NOT mean the item is free of forever chemicals which in general are called PFAS ( PTFE and PFOA are specific kinds of PFAS).

A: Yes, this unit has a pulse function. Pulse action is best when you are using the Chop function. Two or three pulses are often enough. Be sure to check the food frequently to prevent overprocessing. If you overprocess, you are likely to get a watery paste instead of a fine chop.

Great Little Machine
This is the third one I have owned. They are perfect for grinding/chopping small items like garlic, nuts, anis stars, etc. I usually have my large and small food processors out at the same time as I am working on a meal. I do not know how people could work in the kitchen without this little guy to complement the larger one. The only reason is has 4 instead of 5 is that they one needs to treat them gently. The safety piece on the lid can easily break off making the machine unusual.

Not safe
Purchased a month ago to replace a different brand chopper i had for years. It is difficult to get bowl to fit base properly. I dropped in bkade as instructed and put cover on. Nothing happened. Tried to readjust everything but blade was stuck. Ended up with 5 stitches and hating how this product fits together. Definitely not a safe processor...I've never had this problem with other brands.

Know the limitations
Attractive small chopper works well on small amounts of dry or fuller loads of liquid containing batches. It was unable to tackle a full load of fresh cranberries liquifying the bottom near the blade but unable, even with pulsing to chop up the entire loaded container.

Thirty years of using Cuisinart
I've received my 14-cup food processor in 1992 as a wedding gift. Still have it through a free, replacement lid and the blade recall/replacement. My brand new backup's been sitting in my basement, still in the box, for several years. This mini processor hasn't disappointed me at all! The thing I love most is the smooth, inner wall that's super easy to scrape. The bowl and lid click into place, just like the big'n. I love it!

It seems to work better than my immersion blender for making smoothies but lacks enough power to do it quickly. I am disappointed in how long it takes to blend ingredients for my smoothies. I haven't chopped vegetables yet. It does clean up easily and it's priced reasonably.
