If you are a pet owner, you know the eternal struggle of fur-covered carpets. I recently picked up the Bissell CleanView Max Fur Guard, and while our relationship got off to a slightly rocky start, I’m genuinely impressed by its performance where it matters most. The Good: Unmatched Suction Power Let’s talk about the "Max" in the name—it’s not just marketing. The suction power is incredible. Deep Cleaning: It pulled up dust and embedded pet hair that my previous vacuum didn't even touch. Fur Guard Technology: The specialized brush roll does a fantastic job of preventing those annoying hair wraps that usually require a pair of scissors to fix. Agility: For a powerful upright, it’s surprisingly easy to maneuver around furniture. The Bad: Quality Control Hiccup However, I did encounter a frustrating "fit and finish" issue. Within just a few days of light use, the lettering for the height adjustment settings (Bare Floor to High Carpet) started rubbing right off the machine. It might sound like a small aesthetic gripe, but for a vacuum at this price point, you expect the labels to stay put so you actually know which setting you’re using! It felt a bit cheap for such a heavy-duty motor. The Resolution Because I loved the suction so much, I didn't want a refund—I just wanted a unit that wasn't peeling. I ended up returning it to the store for an exchange. The second unit seems to be holding up much better so far, but it was a bit of a hassle to lug it back to the store just because of some fading ink.

It’s not too bad of a vacuum, but going to return it because there are many plastic pieces that are FALLING OFF first use. Before I plugged it in and turned it on it came off because the plastic connection broke. No wonder why they were getting rid of all these, they’re made cheaply. Suction power is good, compact, noise isn’t too loud

I purchased the bissell cleanview max furguard liftoff pet hair pick-up vacuum cleaner 4243 from target on 11/24/25 and started using it on 11/16/25. We always had Shark vacuums but o decided to give this one a chance and it doesn’t even pick up animal hair! I’ve been using it for 2 weeks and I finally gave up and ordered a Shark. Now I have this vacuum and I don’t know what to do with it

Really not anything that I like.
I have had sharks that need to be replaced after a few years. Wanted something different. I really dislike this vacuum. The dog hair has wrapped around the roll already 2x in a few weeks. No easy way to get to it to clean - you have to unscrew like 6 screws. The Suction sucks - and the cord is too short and located low on right hand side which I never knew would be totally annoying as I hold cord with left while vacuuming with right. It is lightweight - but feels cheap. Did I mention suction sucks? and we have hard floors / low pile carpet in 80% of the house. This was a costly lesson. Looking for black friday shark deals. At least they do a great job for a few years.

Bissell vacuum
I thought this vacuum was going to be great for pet hair, but it’s quite the opposite. When it’s on the floor setting and changes to the carpet it will leave behind the dog hair you’ve just vacuumed. I’ve also noticed the cord is shorter than other vacuums and I’m constantly having to unplug and plug back into another outlet.

Our shark vacuum was finally giving out on us after having it for a few years. great vacuum for quilters
My wife is a quilter. The floor gets covered in thread and bits of cloth. That wraps around the roller brush. Ugh! This vacuum resists thread wrap as well as it resists hair wrap around this roller. It cleans low and high carpets and does great on hard floors, and cleans much more deeply than our old Eureka. The detachable unit and wand makes cleaning steps much easier. The wand and crevice tool works very well to reach behind hard-to-reach places. You don't need to have pets to benefit from this vacuum. It does great on human hair, too.

Suction For DAYS
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a long-haired Ragdoll cat and 2 young boys, so my home needs vacuuming nearly every day. Between the cat-hair-tumbleweeds and typical kiddo messes, I have been looking for something that will handle both, along with regular household dust/dirt with ease. Thankfully, I've found it in the CleanView Max FurGuard Vacuum. With its enormous suction power, I know I'm getting up everything that I pass over, small or large, the first time. The dust cup really is XL, it takes a LOT to fill it up, so it reduces stopping to empty over and over. The FurGuard technology on the main brush roll is great and I only wish it was duplicated on the turbo pet attachment. The attachment wand is very long and stretchy, which is important to me. (I'm on the shorter side, so having a long and flexible attachment is helpful when I'm cleaning things up high.) The power cord is quite long, so there's no searching for a new outlet every few feet, either. So far, the CleanView Max FurGuard Vacuum has tackled everything that I've thrown at it without skipping a beat, including my cat's favorite sleeping spot that gets covered in his fur. (See attached picture!) I highly recommend this vacuum to anyone who's looking for a true "pet hair" vacuum, this is the one!
