good value but awkward bottlenecks to try to limit capability
it is a very rare high value proposition by Apple, however.. it is not without awkwardly imposed, unnatural limitations. for example, you see USB-C and expect USB 3.0+... not a 15 year old USB 2.0 protocol that probably cost extra to impose a non standard protocol, in order to limit data speeds. My biggest pet peeve of the imposed limitations is incompatibility with any decent apple pencil. It's impossible to get one with touch sensitivity unless you also manage to find an aplle pencil gen 1 pencil (But you would have to use a specific proprietary, lightningto USB pencil adapter, because the only way to pair it is by plugging it in) their $80 USB-C super dumb down apple pencil... literally doesn't even have touch sensitivity! This is the most basic feature in 2025. there's a bunch of dumb feature blocks....like this that turn me off to ever upgrading to a higher end Apple device or.... ever switching away from Samsung in the smartphone department. It's still good value and good for most people in the tablet department.

Nice size, adequate battery life lasting all day and then some. Meshes all information with phone onto ipad. Slightly too heavy for my liking, however I believe very similar weight as pad air model. Overall good for everyday use, no gaming so speed is good for me.

I wish I could rate this item higher but I placed an order for two iPads and the order was confirmed. After arriving to pick up the two iPads, one was not in stock so I was told I would get a refund to repurchase the iPad immediately. It's been more than 5 days. And I have not seen a refund nor do I still have the iPad but target still got my money and the good. 🌝 oh and I called customer service 3 times and each time the representative hung up on me for demanding a resolution.
