If you are looking at the specific model labeled "Apple iPad mini (A17 Pro) Wi-Fi (2024)," that particular unit does not have cellular capabilities. To get one that works with a data plan, you must look for the version specifically labeled "Wi-Fi + Cellular." How to tell if an iPad has Cellular If you are looking at a physical iPad or a listing and aren't sure which one it is, look for these three signs: The Model Name: It must explicitly say "Wi-Fi + Cellular." If it just says "Wi-Fi," it cannot use a data plan. The Price: The Cellular model usually costs $150 more than the Wi-Fi-only model.
