PetSafe ScoopFree SmartSpin Self-Cleaning Litter Box

I purchased this product a year ago. The idea itself is genius. The issue is with cleaning, emptying the litter out of the box. The dome is bulky, and awkward to handle and aim into a garbage can. Urine slips out between the seams of the dome making the whole thing even more complex. I believe the main issue lies with the fact that you cannot put more than a bare minimum of litter in the dome. With three cats the crystal soon becomes totally drenched in urine meaning that I have to change out the litter every 2/3 days. My take is that it is wonderful for one cat. With multiple cats, there needs to be another version which can take more litter in the first place AND be easier to handle to empty the litter out.

There’s an app that you can use to see how many times your cat(s) use the litter box, how much they weighed when they entered, and how long they spent in the litter box. You can customize alerts, cleaning times, and reminder schedules. The tray that collects and contains the dirty litter does an excellent job at containing the smell. It took my two cats a few days to get used to using it - and they are still in awe of this thing whenever it goes through a cleaning cycle - but they really like using it now and it makes my life SO much easier. It is difficult to clean since it doesn’t really come apart at all once it’s built, but I honestly haven’t needed to clean it in the month I’ve had it. It self-cleans incredibly well. Overall, one of the most amazing products any cat owner can have.

I've had nothing but trouble with the Litterrobot giving me errors. This Petsafe one is much better. It has a great app and gives me weights on my kitties so should the day come that someone pees outside of the box, I will know which one it is. It will also advise me on any significant weight loss or weight gain. The only issue I have is that one of my boys likes to dig and knocks litter out of the box as you can see in the picture. No worries! I just put an old quilt out to catch the litter and slide it back in. Great product!

Motor went bad after 1 year, not covered by warranty. Horrible investment. The liter box never even worked that great when it did, bad odor even when cleaning often, liter always gets kicked out, barely big enough for an adult cat, not worth the price. Just spend the extra money on a liter robot. Wish I did.

I thought it was going to be awkward and bulky in my space but it fit just fine. My absolute favorite part is the easy to open drawer that collects the dirty litter and how easy it is to clean! I honestly might get a second SmartSpin because I have two cats. The cats took a bit to warm up to it. I left it unplugged for a few days like the instructions suggested and that worked well. They use it without issue now.

It prevents smells and filters out the clumps into a separate waste basket. Our cat had some adjustment when she first started using it but now there isn’t any issues. It send an alert through the app when she uses the litter box, also telling you the cat’s current weight and then will send an alert when it’s time to change the waste basket bag which is user convenient for maintainance. It’s super chic so you could have it in a common area if you choose and your guests would never know. I was able to test this product complimentary but all opinions are my own.

The instructions for assembly, adding litter, and maintenance were clear and easy to follow. The first few days, my cat wasn’t quite sure what to think. She would look at it, sniff it occasionally, and walk away. By about the third day, she started using it on her own. We’ve had it for about a month, and now it’s her preferred litter box, so much so that we were able to completely get rid of the old traditional litter pan. My cat is very large, almost 20 pounds, so I was initially worried it wouldn’t be big enough, but she has no trouble using it at all. It’s quiet and does a great job cleaning. I also appreciate that it automatically stops if the cat jumps in while it’s cycling, which feels much safer. Overall, the entire process was much simpler than I expected, and it’s been effective and easy to maintain.

I didn't think it would work as well as it actually does. This pet safe smart scoop litter box is genius. It is very quiet when it is working and it doesn't leave any major smells. The setup was extremely easy and programming was an easy setup. It seems very durable and I think my cat is getting used to it. It does get rid of most all the waste when that happens. I think this is a great concept and works very well if you have a busy lifestyle and need additional help taking care of things around the house. I highly recommend this product.

My cats are some little chickens. I left it out for a week and they refused to use it! I was so upset because it could have made my life a little easier. So I had to put it back in the box and get it away from them. Broke my heart. I will definitely wait awhile and try again. Hopefully they will come around to it. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

It fits perfectly in the corner of the bathroom and has very little odor due to the quick emptying process. The app is a nice feature as well! The waste bin holds a lot so you don’t have to empty it every day. Perfect for out of town trips!

Set up was really easy as the instructions walk you through each step and then the app install and connection was really simple. I appreciate that they tell you to have your cat use the litter box unplugged for the first few days before turning it on so they can adjust a little at a time. The noise of the machine is really minimal which is a plus for small spaces. The best thing about this machine is unlike others, you can use whatever litter you already use so your cat doesn’t have to adjust to a new litter. It has been so nice to not have to scoop every morning and my cat has adjusted well! I could see a downside to this being it doesn’t have stairs for older cats and that it can track litter hopping out. Overall, I’m super happy with the product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is kind of a riot. Kiki is still adjusting to her Japanese toilet of litter boxes and LOVES watching the clean cycle. It’s mostly easy to transport, and unexpectedly so easy to assemble— I had put it off for days and then it took 10 minutes! It’s pretty darn chic for a litter box. The wood legs and materials look way more appealing than similar less expensive litter boxes. Unexpectedly, I understand why they are worth the high price. I didn’t realize how amazing it is to never scoop litter and now I am a changed person. My one drawback is that my cat likes to pee near the back along the seams of the plastic so I have still had to wipe off with a spray cleaner a couple times, but I think she’s getting the hang of it. Lastly, I loved that the litter I already had stock piled worked with it perfectly. I will probably switch from the flushable tofu litter I have since it can create a lot of bulk, but actually think that I can perhaps save some money on litter now.

I'm not a fan! Little dumps out the corner when it comes back to reset. The grey platform will not stay in the socket. Super unhappy with this expensive purchase.

The app is easy to use. Haven’t had to clean it yet but seems like it would be very easy with the convenient basket at the bottom. The deodorizer is great and smells so nice. Very quiet motor so you barely even know it’s moving. Wish the girls would use it more but I’m sure that will come with time. I really like it and would like to get another one!
