Q: I would like to use this to replace Cerave's PM moisturizer. What percentage of niacinamide does this have? (Cerave PM moisturizer have 4%)

A: I think that this deserves an answer as well. The statement that "The percentage of specific ingredients in any given product is not a measure of the ingredient's efficacy" is just wrong. Well-conducted clinical studies have shown Niacinamide to be efficacious for various purposes at the 4%-5% range. If this product does not contain that ingredient in that percentage, there is a good chance the Niacinamide included may not be in the efficacious range that has been clinically studied. I too would like to see if this product works well, but I am not going to throw my money and skin in a lottery and hope that the Niacinamide is efficacious. I will be sticking to CeraVe for the time being.

Gets rid of acne better than any other cleanser.
Honestly I have senstetive skin and nothing has worked as good as this cleanser. The ingredients are all looked over and recommend by dermatologists and after I use it my skin feels amazing.

Felt dry on my oily skin even!
Esthetician here. I assumed the shea butter would be occlusive enough to keep my skin supple but my face felt tight afterwards. For reference, I use a non foaming gentle hydrating cleanser so this should not happen. I prefer the bioderma Atoderm cream. NOTHING compares to that.

Works well but smells bad
I would really like to give this a high rating as it works really well… however, I cannot get over the smell.(fishy?) I’ve tried to mix it with other good smelling lotions and the smell still seems to be overpowering.

I live in the desert & this is the only lotion I have tried that really made a big difference in the feeling, texture and appearance of my skin. It works better than heavier creams with a list of fancy ingredients and isn't too heavy or suffocating in the heat. Many fragrance free lotions have a strange smell which can react to your skin chemistry and make you smell odd. This lotion doesn't do that in my case. Its well worth the price.
