Instant Pot 4qt Rio Mini Electric Pressure Cooker

I purchased this to replace my rice cooker and crock pot and wish I had found this sooner! I have nothing but great things to say about this instapot. It is larger than it appears, you can easily cook larger portions in it and it cooks like a dream. Definitely recommend.

The quality is good, and I find it very practical. It makes cooking easier and more convenient. I would definitely recommend it.

I have Instant pot duo 3 quarts which I use on a weekly basis . When this 4 quarts came up I wanted to give it a try . I added pictures comparing it with duo . You can actually fit 27oz Kirkland Ghee bottle horizontally which you could not do with duo.I love the broad base . Duo looks still compact in structure compared to this new one . As of now I have done pressure cooking and it performs the same as other instant pot . I took a star away as the cord is not detachable . Please make the cord detachable . Anyways I love this new broad base design . Good enough for family of four .

I seared it first and then set it for 25min. I was in a hurry because I had to have dinner ready in less than 30min so it definitely saved me. It can pressure cook, slow cook, sautée, steam, make yogurt and rice! The buttons are easy to figure out and functions perfectly. Thank you so much to Instant Pot for sending this to me to try out and review. Not only is this product intuitive to use, but it is actually the perfect size for 4 servings. The Instant Pot Mini Multi-cooker can steam, pressure cooker, slow cook, saute, make rice, and even make yogurt. The multi-cooker is heavy duty, which feels nice and sturdy because I know it will last for a long time. It is also surprisingly easy to clean. The inner pot is also dishwasher safe, which is so convenient. So far, I've made soup, stew, and even tried the steaming function. The meat came out soft and tender in under 30 minutes. This is a must have for busy individuals living alone or with a partner, who want homemade meals with minimal dishes.

It's easy to use, pleasant to look at, and overall just a lovely product. I am taking a little bit off because it is still somewhat intimidating on first use and there's a pretty decent learning curve but overall, it's lovely.

I cook quite a bit at home, and often find myself skipping more complex recipes because of the time commitment. With the instant pot, I'm able to cut actual cook time down so much that I have been able to try the more daunting meals. One of my favorites so far has been braised short ribs, but I've also quickly whipped up delicious chicken stock as well as simple things like rice. I'm pretty much hooked and can't believe I went so long without having one of these! The size is also perfect for a couple, and we always have plenty of leftovers.

So far I've done a yummy beef stew, rice (the most perfect rice), and I have a few other recipes lined up due to my busy schedule. This allowed me to not have to wait all day for a good stew and such an even cook! I highly recommend this one if you have a small family, couple, or solo for the size but you could absolutely feed a larger family. Happy cooking!

But I would compare this to Goldilocks, not to big like the 6 quart and not to small like the 3 quart. Literally perfect size to cook for 2-3 people. Easy to clean and so many functions.

It heats fast, cooks evenly, and makes everything taste like it took hours even when it didn't. I've made rice, pasta, soups, and shredded chicken and it comes out perfect every time. I love that it still has all of the same functions. I slow cooked chicken for a party and the next morning was able to easily transport it with the locking lid and light weight small size! The steel bowl is small enough for the top shelf of the dishwasher. I also love the pressure release button that wasn't on the last big instant pot that I used!

I frequently return home late in the evening, and while I do enjoy cooking, it's not something I eagerly anticipate after a long workday. However, I dislike fast food, so I make it a priority to prepare meals at home. Living in a small ADU means my kitchen space is limited, making convenience and compact appliances essential for me. With that in mind, I was thrilled to try the Instant Pot 4QT RIO Mini Multi Cooker, Truffle, due to its small size and multifunctionality. It was my first experience using an Instant Pot, so I needed to read the instructions to understand how to operate it. I must admit that my initial attempt was a total failure. In retrospect, I should have dedicated more time to research; however, after watching several videos, I finally managed to cook my first meal, which included chicken, spinach, grape tomatoes, cream cheese, and parmesan cheese. I was initially worried that the ingredients would stick to the pot, but to my surprise, they did not. I was also pleasantly surprised by how user-friendly the Instant Pot was. I essentially tossed my ingredients into the Instant Pot, and in less than 10 minutes, my dish was prepared. Some may argue that cooking on a pan is an option, but I rarely find a non-stick pan that truly lives up to its name, and my food consistently takes longer to cook in a pan than it did in the Instant Pot. I also value the warm feature. We all spend some time serving our meals, and often by the time the food moves from the pan to the plate, it has cooled down but with the warm feature the food remains warm. Moreover, I appreciate how easy it is to clean. Usually, when I cook, I have to wash not only the pans but also clean my entire stove; with the Instant Pot, I only need to clean the inner pot. To conclude, I would definitely recommend this appliance, especially for those who are frequently on the move. I do think it would be helpful if the instructions included pictures or perhaps some simple recipes that can be made using the Instant Pot itself. Other than that, I truly enjoyed my experience and look forward to many more meals.

It also looks more sleek than the original, although it feels more plastic which I don't love in terms of long term durability. It also lacks some of the features of the original instant pot, and seems to take longer to heat up and cook. Overall, I would recommend to a single person or a couple.

The only issue that I have seen is the food burns easily. I have had food burn twice on the pressure cooker function & it was nothing that should have burned. I also dislike that it doesn't come with a storage lid & there isn't one to buy.

I've never owned a multi cooker and honestly I didn't really use things like a slow cooker or even a rice cooker until recently because I would just make everything on the stove. Let me tell you, this was seriously a game changer. I have to cook all my own food whether I like it or not because I have a pretty gnarly food allergy that I can't always accommodate when eating out, but my main gripe with always cooking is how much time it takes. My favorite soup takes about two day to make and even something like pot roast can take 12+ hours to be ready. I went feral when I used the RIO to make pot roast in 3 hours and I was able to make everything in the same pan (the one that comes in the RIO) because my second gripe with cooking is the dishes. I don't have a dishwasher, so this aspect is very important to me. It is quite small, but I don't mind it since I only really cook for my husband and occasionally my parents. If you have a bigger family then I would suggest possibly looking at one with more capacity. I was able to store it easily because it was so small and it didn't take up much counter space.
