Q: My 1 week old baby has peed through every single one and I haven’t been able to keep them on for longer than 30 min before she and whoever is holding her is covered in pee. Why don’t these diapers absorb any pee? She’s almost 6lbs and is wearing NB size.

  • A: They hold well. You need to change more often. They are cotton diapers and are a cleaner /healthier diaper..I have the same issue after a few 3/4hrs of wear on days when my toddler drinks lot of water(loves water), which is most days if not daily. Since she pees often then I can have her in them for roughly 3/4 hrs but I try to change her as often as I notice them wet ti keep her from getting a rash. One that is less frequent since changing to this brand. I absolutely love it, especially because it has made me realize my child should not be sitting in urine too long as I wouldn't during my menses.

  • A: Newborn was likely too big. My almost 6lb newborn was in preemie diapers for about 3 weeks before he fit into newborn. Until we got preemie diapers, he leaked through everything. That’s probably the issue vs them being too small.

    Bring back the thinner diaper

    Something recently CHANGED these diapers are not it anymore. I have 2 girls in these both experiencing rashes. The diapers have changed you can tell by the feel. So disappointed

    Bummed

    EWG holds a lot of weight when I make decisions about products for my family. However these Size 1 diapers leaked regularly on my 11 lb newborn, even with changing every hour. The tabs are also hard to open when initially putting the diaper on, which made diaper changes annoying and stressful. Went back to our trusty Parasol and felt so relieved.

    New Formula

    We were absolutely in love with healthybaby diapers when we first started using it! However, since updating the packaging they also made some significant changes to their diapers. My daughter never had any issues prior to this change, but now we experience leaks and terrible rashes. We’ll be reaching out to EWG and ask they review their verification of these diapers since making these changes. We’ve switched over to Free Style (also EWG verified) and are very happy with the change!

    Toxic Smell

    The diaper itself is a good nontoxic option readily available in store, but the smell is horrendous. If you are buying these, it’s likely because you value clean ingredients and transparency and zero synthetic fragrance. I’m not sure if it’s a Target issue (many items smell toxic that come from Target), or if it’s a shipping to store issue, or a HealthyBaby issue. But it’s unacceptable to put toxic fragrance on diapers that touch such delicate new skin.

    The best, cleanest diaper

    Super soft and absorbent and feels very high quality. They fit my chunky baby really well and we’ve never had any leaks or blow outs. Also EWG verified which is huge. Not sure why the reviews aren’t better, these are great! (I think some people take the “12 hour protection” as a challenge)

    Not great anymore

    The new “Enhanced” diapers have rough, irritating, and severe rash-causing plastic elastics that touches baby’s delicate skin. I appreciate that they added the blow out guards on size 3 and up, but they’re a major fail. I wish Healthy Baby listens to consumers, instead of just recommending to size up when you reach out to their customer care team. 3 stars because the old healthy baby diapers are great, absorbent, plus better/cleaner diaper ingredients.

    These are the only diapers my son can use due to severe skin sensitivity. Cannot find these in store anymore so they have to be shipped. I ordered multiple boxes which all came damaged and soaked in what appears to be oil or soap. Target is not allowing me to return them due to the damage. Very disappointed.

    Greenwashing

    50 diapers for $30 these better be 100% organic cotton. I steer clear of green washing marketing that says what it doesn't have but doesn't clearly state what it does have. In addition, trying to market these as organic cotton when it's 15% only and on the outside of the diaper is what is "sketchy." Hoping Mama's ONLY see organic cotton* and healthy baby.
