Works great but smells absolutely horrible. Will definitely be looking for another brand to use.

I am extremely disappointed with the recent formula change to your product. After using the original formula for many years without issue, the new version caused immediate redness and irritation to my skin and eyes. The added menthol is harsh, unnecessary, and completely unsuitable for sensitive skin. What makes this situation even more unacceptable is that the formula change was not clearly disclosed on the bottle. There was no visible indication that the product had been reformulated. This is misleading to long-time customers who reasonably expect consistency when purchasing a familiar product. Had the change been clearly stated, I would not have purchased it. This change has rendered the product unusable for me. As a long-time customer, it is frustrating to see a formula that worked well for so many people replaced with one that causes discomfort and adverse reactions. Because of this change and the lack of transparency surrounding it. I will no longer be purchasing or recommending Head & Shoulders products. I strongly urge your company to bring back the original formula. Ingredients such as Manuka honey, which has well-documented antifungal properties, were far more effective and far gentler than the current formulation. This formula change, and the way it was handled, has cost you a loyal customer. I hope your company takes customer feedback seriously and reconsiders this decision. Hello I was curious about your clinical head n shoulders with manuka honey. Do you still make that because the new and improved is NOT AS GOOD AS THE HONEY ONE. THIS one made my scalp burn a bit with the peppermint oil in it. I hope you are planning on restocking putting it back out on the market.

This is the ONLY stuff that works for my sons dandruff problem. He uses it twice a week. NO other brands or kind work for him, but this stuff!

Confusion about available scents

This morning my husband used this and he came over and said does this have a bad smell??? I smelled his hair and he smelled like after getting a perm so, I said yes, but it’s not bad you just smell like a perm. About 30 minutes later maybe less we got in the car with our twins and I started thinking one of them somehow peed in the car and then thought that’s crazy they always have diapers on so I ignored it. We got home and he gave me a hug, and I said you smell like urine. He washed his hair with bath and body works body wash which is pretty strong, but the odor is still noticeable and follows with him terribly. I do not suggest this!!! He said it smelled great in the bottle and I trust that it does, but boy oh boy it smells like URINE and intensely!!

I used H & S Clinical Strength shampoo for the first time today. (I have used regular H & S for years.) Soon after my shower my hands turned red and started to itch. Then my head started to tingle. Red splotches appeared all over my body and itched! I started having very serious dry heaves and diarrhea. I immediately rewashed my hands & hair with a different soap. I was worried about my Asthma, so I went to Urgent Care and received a shot of Benedryl and 40 mgs. of Prednisone due to an allergic reaction to this product! It was scary!

Used once & already can see an improvement. Not as much dandruff & no off putting smell like others say there is.

Now this one really works no dandruff first try gone and no itches I use it twice a week

I have used the old formula of the Clinical Dry Scalp Rescue (CDSR) for years due to chronic seborrheic dermatitis (and years ago the classic before they switched it to pyrithione zinc as the active ingredient). The old CDSR had honey in it, fragrance was out of the top 5 ingredients (in fact it was number 8), and no menthol or mint products. My hair actually felt clean and the itching was gone. The new CDSR formula, labeled as if the same just with a bottle redesign, has fragrance at number 5, no honey, menthol (a major irritant that should not be in seborrheic dermatitis or dandruff products cause it seriously aggravates the issues it is supposed to be fixing!), peppermint oil and mentha arvensis oil (mint family products just like menthol). The smell is overwhelming just like their normal products and my hair doesn’t feel clean! It feels greasier than when I started washing it. Wet hair should not feel greasy. And bonus, my scalp has not stopped itching in the hour since my hair wash. Horrible! I have been a loyal Head and Shoulders customer since for 30+ years, but this is the last straw. What a waste of development money, Head and Shoulders. You had a great product and ruined it.

The Head & Shoulders Clinical Strength Dry Scalp Rescue with Manuka Honey was the perfect formula. The ingredients were balanced, gentle, and effective it was the only shampoo that truly treated my dry scalp while also leaving my hair clean, soft, and not weighed down. The new version doesn’t compare. It burns the scalp and contains added oils that completely counteract the purpose of treating a dry, flaky scalp. Instead of relief, it makes the problem worse. Please consider bringing back the original Manuka Honey formula it was the best product you ever made for dry scalp care.

It cleared up my scalp in literally 2 washes, which is great. It smells good in the bottle and while lathering, but the smell that lingers after drying smells like straight urine, which is why I am giving it 3 stars. That smell is STRONG!

Why did you change it! My son’s scalp is a mess the manuka honey worked like magic.

Please bring back the Clinical Strength Dandruff Defense Dry Scalp Rescue with Manila Honey!!!! It is the ONLY product that ever worked for me. After using this new product my issues are returning. The new smell is off putting. I much preferred the other.

I mean, it worked fine, but the new scent is disgusting. I wish they would bring back the Manuka honey.

If I wanted menthol and a burning scalp I would've gotten your other shampoo. Why oh why did you have to add menthol to the DRY SCALP version? Menthol does NOT help a dry scalp. It burns. Dear God why. Please please please I am begging you take the menthol back out.

Adding scent has ruined this product. I've used clinical strength for dry scalp for about 20 years, it's the only thing that I didn't break out from. Please go back to original formula.
