A: The Tillamook Medium Cheddar Cheese Loaf is halal certified. This certification is shown on the packaging. Tillamook County Creamery Association is the manufacturer. I hope this helps!

A: Hi Nick, thank you for your question. It is called a loaf because the cheese is formed into an oblong rectangular shape. We have been making cheese loaves since the mid-1920s. The term 'Baby Loaf' originated in the 1930s as a trademark for our 2lb loaves for use in catalogs and advertisements, and the name is still used to reference our 2lb loaves today! Historically, we have also made gems, horns, and brick styles of cheese. I hope this is helps!

Typically, I love Tillamook cheese. I buy the block and shred it up, using it for mac n cheese, ziti, and tacos, especially. However, I didn’t notice until I got it home that the medium sharp cheddar block I bought was molded. Gross. Now I know to check the cheese THOROUGHLY before purchasing.
