Q: Why don’t you have a U Kosher certification if the enzymes are vegetarian? What is not kosher about it?

  • A: Hello, thank you for reaching out! Tillamook cheeses are currently made in a way that is kosher-friendly in terms of ingredients and production. In fact, our regular Medium Cheddar cheese is identical to the Kosher Medium Cheddar. However, we currently only have the one cheese (Kosher Medium Cheddar) that is officially certified as kosher and advertised as such on packaging, since there needs to be a rabbi present during the production of kosher certified foods, and it is not currently feasible for this to be the case for us with all of the cheese we make every day of the year. Q: Why is this called a 'loaf'?

  • A: Hi Nick, thank you for your question. It is called a loaf because the cheese is formed into an oblong rectangular shape. We have been making cheese loaves since the mid-1920s. The term 'Baby Loaf' originated in the 1930s as a trademark for our 2lb loaves for use in catalogs and advertisements, and the name is still used to reference our 2lb loaves today! Historically, we have also made gems, horns, and brick styles of cheese. I hope this is helps!

So good, been buying this cheese for over a year now and love it. Consistency and flavor is always the same. Works so good on eggs, grilled cheese, sandwiches, you name it! I also like to shred mine if I need shredded cheese for something.

I love this cheese. It’s so smooth and flavorful, it melts excellently. I love its soft texture. If you love smelling cheese this is the one you’ll need. I feel they use the top and most freshest ingredients.

Tillamook Medium Cheddar cheese loaf is good. Tillamook usually is a house favorite no matter the flavor but the Medium could be a bit more flavorful. The portion size for the price is perfect depending on where you purchase this item. The firmness, smell and sustainability are average. Again, Tillamook is one of our favorite cheese brands but we prefer the sharp for taste. All in all good.

Snack size!

These little Tillamook cheese snacks are a great go to for a quick bite. The medium cheddar has a nice, creamy texture with just the right amount of sharpness, not too mild and not too strong. They're easy to pack for lunches or grab on the go. Even my dogs like to share;)

This cheese is the best cheese you can buy. I will never buy any other brand. It's fresh, and the flavor is better than any other cheese I've tried. Packaging for this cheese is easy to open and to keep on for the freshness. My family and I have been using this and nothing else for over 50 years
