I’ve worked in dermatology for over 13 years. This compares to prescription strength creams for a fraction of the price. One dot per section of the face or a pea size is enough for the entire face. You shouldn’t completely press the pump down bc too much will come out. These tips would solve a lot of problems I’m hearing in some reviews. I’m really happy with the results bc I don’t use it before bed so I get the full benefits of it not rubbing off on my pillow. I don’t give reviews but thought I should bc I don’t think most ppl are aware of how retinal works and the limited availability in stores. I’m excited to see Ordinary made one so effective and I’ll purchase again.

This is week 3 of using nightly. Its gentle to skin but effective. Im so pleased, skin has a nice heslthy glow, no barrier irritation. I will continue using.

I've been using this product for about three weeks and I am sold! My skin is more even, texture is disappearing, my pores are much less visible, and I've had zero adverse affects. I already have a back up on deck! I use niacinamide in addition to this serum. For reference: my skin type is oily/combo, I'm not a beginner retinol user, I'm melanated and I do not have sensitive skin.

Amazing retinal. My skin texture is looking great, skin has a nice glow to it. Will continue using.

proceed with caution— this product lead to extreme breakouts every time i used it. it was NOT purging, as i have used stronger prescription strength retinols consistently before trying this. i don’t typically break out so this was a surprise. unfortunately, every time i tried to reintegrate this into my routine, my skin blew up. i think it has to do with the formulation/ other ingredients besides the retinal itself.

I had been using PTR glycolic plus retinol and not getting many results. Moved up to this and WOW. Total game changer. Started seeing reduction in fine lines and hyperpigmentation after about a month! I do my evening skincare about two hours before I go to bed and this gives the product time to sink in and not stain my pillowcases or anything else. Wait 20 minutes before applying moisturizer after for best results.

After only one use I cannot attest to its effectiveness but I can say that it stains. One of my favorite white linen shirts is now ruined. Although it's got a great price point, I would recommend the retinaldehyde from Paula's Choice instead. It works great and doesn't stain. I purchased this to use on my neck only. I'm bummed though.

At a certain age, ya need a retinal treatment in your routine !!! Let's admit it. Really- for 15.bicks you cannot beat this. It's strong- start slowly! I had no issue with yellow stains. My fine lines are reduced, and skin is smoother, hence makeup Looks better too... Use an SPF during day!

I am enjoying this product, improvements on texture, pores and more firmness/less fine lines. I use it every other day in the evening only. I skip my toner for the application and follow up with a good moisturizer (I learned to not mix acids and retinols). I would caution you do not need a lot of this product, maybe one-two pumps and allow it to dry down a bit, then moisturize. I have not add any transfer or staining issues. ps, if you're looking at retinol for the first time, try their lighter one first, it has less of a learning curve. ppss you must apply sunscreen and be vigilant about it if you use this product. it makes the skin more photo sensitive.

I'm 43 years old. Have been using the Ordinary Retinal Emulsion religiously for almost 2 years and have seen significant improvement in my skin. Retinal is more potent than retinol so if you've never used retinol before, I would start there, then build up to this product. I use the Ordinary Retinal every night with no issues (redness, flaking, etc). I used to use prescription RetinA (trentinoin cream) from my dermatologist, but my skin didn't tolerate it well and I had flare ups of redness and dryness. The Ordinary Retinal Emulsion is my holy grail. It's stronger than retinol, but gentler than trentinoin. I will never stop using this product. For the price, it's the best on the market. Yes, it will stain your pillowcase yellow, but I can live with that for the excellent results.

Great product, ive seen a positive chsnge in the texture of my skin. Ive used many retinals and this is my favorite.

The product is nice. It works well, the consistency is nice. I actually liked it a lot. But unfortunately, I won't be rebuying because of how bad the staining is. My face, pillowcase, and nails were yellow the entire time I used this :(

I didn't use it long enough to see any results because it stains skin and fabrics yellow, even if you layer moisturizer on top.

This is my first retinal. It was an easy transition, I had no irritation, and it seems more stable than their retinol.

It's fine for the price. It's not the most effective retinol I've ever tried. My biggest problem with this is that it turned bright yellow and stained my skin. I had to stop using because I looked jaundiced with it. Do yourself a favor and find a retinol in a better container, the few extra dollars will be well worth it.
