Lid hinge broke
Hi, I bought this kettle under a year ago and was mostly satisfied (it boiled water quickly, shut oft on completion and looked nice while doing that. Last week the lid broke off upon pressing the “push” button while pouring it scalding my wife’s hand.

Stay clear of Salton's clear kettle. Ouch!!
Zero would be the better rating. This kettle is a scorcher, literally. When you pour the boiling water out, lava-hot steam comes out the back right where your hold the handle. Did no one even test this thing? We use oven mitts to save our skin from 2nd degree burns. Don't need to learn that lesson twice!

Salton glass kettle
I was looking forward to using my new glass kettle. It is disappointing for several reasons: 1. Compared to my last kettle with a straight handle, this model has a rounded handle and it is very easy to scald oneself when pouring boiling water due to the angle of the kettle when holding the curved handle, Quite dangerous. 2 Instructions say don't boil with water below 1/2 litre mark - pouring this amount of boiling water is even more dangerous with scalding too easy to happen. 3. It is confusing to have the 'on' button beside the 'lid' button, quite often pressing the wrong one.

Your feedback is very much appreciated. Salton glass kettle model GK1831 handle should be held below the power switch while pouring. In addition, this kettle uses the universal symbol for 'POWER' and the word 'PUSH' to open the lid. There should not be any confusion between the two buttons but if it takes time please use with caution.

Love this kettle
I buy one every year!! I like glass as opposed to plastic for cleanliness reasons. This last one has only lasted 3 months before it wouldn't shut off... when I grabbed the handle, it burnt my hand, it was so hot! Now, it starts and stops on its own, fire hazard really

Beautiful Kettle, but...
I purchased this kettle from a department store and was so excited to receive it. It is a solid kettle, quite entertaining to watch and boils water quickly. I would be 100% satisfied if it weren't for the fact that if water is left overnight, it leaks all over. Well this certainly should not happen and in addition, this is not safe. I am hoping to return and get a new one.

i bought this kettle less then a year ago , the mesh filter by the spout has broken and i cannot seem to find a replacement option for it.

Disappointed
Disappointing after owning a different Salton model for several years. Boiling water scalds hand when pouring, kettle doesn’t sit securely on base, no flexibility in positioning cord from base. Still like glass for kettle.

The only issue I have with this kettle is when I pour out the hot water the angle isn't ideal as the steam hits my hand and almost burns me very time ( usually fill to 500 mL).
