Banana plugs make speaker installation a breeze. They are designed for use with amplifiers or speakers that use traditional binding posts. Not only is it easier to make the connection on the back of your amp, it is safer, with no chance of stray wire strands creating a short across contacts.
These high quality plugs are the open screw type and can accept bare wire, spades, or other banana plugs. They are sized to fit speaker wire from 12 to 18 AWG. Each pair comes with one plug color coded red and the other coded black, for easy polarity identification.

Good basic bananas
Nice quality for the price. This wiring style forms a 90 deg return out of the component, helping to keep wiring tidy. I used 12AWG wire and 10AWG probably fits too. Recommended

2 banana plugs broken within few months
I bought 5 pairs. True - it is easy to install. One and later another one broke in half while pulling banana plug with slight twisting from the receiver. I never had such issues with other banana plugs before.

Best Banana plugs on the market!
These all metal, heavy duty banana plugs are the best I've ever used. The plug end is a bit thicker than other brands, which means they fit snugly into the amplifier\receiver inputs where other brands tend to wiggle lose. They are very easy to attach speaker wires to in a very secure manner. The price for 5 sets is a great deal on Monoprice and are twice the price on other sites. Thanks for another great deal on a quality product Monoprice!

Hard for old Hands but work great !!
This was my first experience using these plugs in any form and I watch the video from Mono on how to use them . It did make the connections so much easier I found setting up these plugs a challenge. The wires slightly pushed over the sides internally on the inside prevents screwing the caps on . After do this so many times because I had issues with the receivers I bought elsewhere I had to repeat this process I got better at it . I did see a video from a individual claiming you do not have to do anything with the wires as long as you have a long clean section of wire cut because after you screw the cap on it will make its own connection but I haven?t tried it this way . I need 5 more and I will buy these again because the quality of them are excellent and I like them

Truly the easiest setup.
I wish I would?ve purchased these from the getgo. They are tremendously easier than normal banana plugs. Simply cut to length, insert, and tighten. Done!

Good design, but sub-par materials (high iron content)
I like the design of these plugs, but the materials are sub-par. Specifically, they contain much more iron than any other banana plugs I've tried (and I've tried several varieties). I determined this by holding a strong magnet (neodymium) next to the plugs. With other plugs, the magnet would move a single plug slightly, and was only weakly attracted, but with these, the magnetic pull was strong enough to pick up the whole bag of 10 connectors (6 pairs).

Good price/value ratio
I've always been a bare wire guy when it comes to connecting speakers, but in my later years, it's gotten tedious. These connectors provide a reasonable price to value, and clearly MUCH easier to work with than bare wires. Seem solid so far.

Defective junk
The screw mechanism doesn't tighten far enough to secure the wire. I'm using 16-gauge lamp wire, which is commonly used as speaker wire. It easily pulls out of these connectors. Ridiculous.

I bought this because it had five star reviews. It arrived today, and these do not work at all. They will not hold the speaker wire. Regardless of how hight I tighten the plug, or how much speaker wire I put into the plug, the plug will not hold the speaker wire in the plug. The speaker wire falls right out. Really disappointed with this product.
