Thin gold plating corrodes outdoors
After one to two seasons outdoors the tips are corroded. Went through the 5 pack in just a few years.

Inconsistent.
I bought a pack of these for my home theater setup. They just aren?t reliable in plugging in. Klipsch speakers, Emotiva amp, Marantz receiver. They may or may not stay in. Mostly not. I can?t recommend.

Not great
The tips as well as the base unscrew, and have a tendency to fall off for literally no reason. Just carrying the cord across my studio I've had the tips fall off, even though I had just tightened them. The tips also seem to be a little smaller than any other banana plugs I have because these, and only these, fall out of the back of my amplifier if you so much as brush them, and everything else I have from multiple other manufacturers fits perfectly snugly. Going to buy a different brand because these are nearly unusable.

Fit
These are good banana plugs, but they don't fit completely with Monoprice's wall plates (2 mm gap between plug and socket). They sound fine, though. I'm not sure what I'll do next.

Amateur product design.
If either the top or bottom section loosens slightly, then the wire slips out. Might be acceptable on the back of an amplifier, but never on a subwoofer or anything that vibrates, which speakers have been know to do.

Painful to assemble
Painful to assemble the cable to the pin. Should probably have gone with the open screw plugs. I wound up not using these and just using the cable directly into the speaker terminals.

Couldn't get them to work, gave up
I bought these banana plugs to use along with a set of monolith speakers. I couldn't figure out how to get them to properly connect to to the speaker wires. Never having used banana plugs before, I watched a bunch of youtube videos, including ones specifically covering these. No dice, couldn't get it to screw on with the wire bent over the top lip. After wasting around an hour or so on this, I gave up and just used bare wire. Not a huge loss as these were cheap and I'm not going to be swapping around wires, but I thought they would be a nice finishing touch for a multi-thoudand dollar new speaker set up.

As Slick As A Banana Plug Can Get!
As good as it gets for Banana connectors. You can probably spend more but, you won't get more. DIYers look no further. Get the appropriate gauge of cable for your system and you're all set. High grade OFC is just that. Make sure it's dressed in the appropriate outer-wear! A nice jacket, sufficient shielding (directional?), and the lowest gauge you can connect with. That, and these Banana connectors, properly secured at each end, will truly improve your listening pleasure. My system does not move around so, I'm quite comfortable with Banana connectors and believe I get all of the surface to surface I need for proper signal conductance, as compared to spade connectors. P.S. Make sure you don't over pay for "pretty cable" that only performs as well as, or in some cases, less than the "plain Jane" version. Just like dating... a 10 may not perform as well as any 7 or 8! Ask one of the sales/tech guys for the honest 411.
