Not my fav game

I received this product from the stellar product testing panel in exchange for my honest review. I did not love this game. At first sight of the box, I thought it was a fun interactive game that involved actual jumping. It is not that at all, it is completely a board game that reminds me of checkers. First reading the instructions was a little overwhelming. The game is easy once you set it up and understand it, but yeah at first it just looked overwhelming to understand. It is marketed for ages 5 and above, but I played this with my 4 year old and he got the hang of it. So the quality of the game is good, I just rated it one less star because I didn’t really enjoy it. But if you enjoy these types of games, then I think you will like it!

A Fantastic Family Game Night Pick!

We played Mineware Skipty as a family of four, with our 3-year-old and 5-year-old, and it was an instant favorite in our house! What we loved most was how inclusive and exciting the game felt for all ages. Both kids were able to participate, stay engaged, and cheer each other on. There were lots of giggles, excited shouts, and “Let’s play again!” moments. How the game felt: Skipty plays fast and fun, with just a tiny touch of friendly competition. It never felt overwhelming for the little ones—just lively, energetic fun that kept everyone smiling. Ease of learning: We picked up the rules within minutes. The gameplay is simple, clear, and kid-friendly. Our 5-year-old understood it almost immediately, and our 3-year-old could easily join with a little help. Family connection: This game truly brought us together. We talked, laughed, practiced taking turns, and celebrated each small win. It even helped the kids with colors, counting, and patience in a natural, playful way. Overall, Mineware Skipty has earned a permanent spot in our family game rotation. Highly recommend for families with young kids who want something quick, fun, and easy to learn!

Thanks to Stellar Product Testing for giving me and my family the opportunity to test the Skippity game. We played with our five year old and all had a great deal of fun playing the game. This game though fun for all ages is a bit over the younger ones when it comes to strategizing how many skips you can make in one turn to get the best return. One thing I do really like is it doesn’t take too much time so you can play a quick round when someone really wants to play a game but are not forced to be tied down for too long. Overall it was a fun game that was easy to understand and the whole family could play. I could see it being quite a bit more competitive if the little ones are not joining in.

Fun for a 9 year old!

I received this game from Stellar Testing Panel in exchange for my honest review. My nine year old had so much fun playing this game! The rules were simple and easy to understand which was thoughtful compared to most games. I would say though the concept is simple, it is more engaging and competitive for children 7 and up. My son thought of the “skippers” as candies so it was great fun laughing once he won saying he was the candy king! This game will really get you thinking and strategizing. It’s pretty fun to up the pace of the game once you have the hang of it. Love how the game board and pieces are sturdy and well-made. I love how it stores and it’s easy to clean up after. Overall a great value and game to play for the whole family!

Fun for everyone!

Skippity is such a fun game! We received it as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. We first played it with our 4 year old who loved it and had fun playing all while learning about counting, turn taking, and strategizing. After a few games, the kids moved on to other things but the adults were hooked and kept playing. We are a competitive family and enjoy the friendly banter and competition that comes with a game like Skippity. It was quick and easy to learn and explain to new players. Definitely a keeper and a game I’d recommend to table top families.

Easy-going family fun!

This game brought joy to our whole family! The rules are simple and straight forward and my kids could set up the game without any adult help which is always a win for us. My 7 year old and 5 year old caught on quickly for how to look for multiple jump plays. I would say this game has level 1 logic in terms of difficulty. It was easy to socialize while playing and there were very limited opportunities for siblings to disagree (another win for us!). The design of the board and pieces is fun, colorful and whimsical. I was actually able to let my 3 year old join in on the fun with learning his colors and counting too. He would put my jumped pieces on their color spots and count how many tokens I had in each pile - he loved being able to join in on the fun! Only marked as 4 stars because it felt like there could have been more variations to the rules to allow for more skill and logic for older kids or adults as my children grow older. Thank you Stellar Product Testing Panel for giving us the opporunity to add a new family friendly game to our home!

Great family fun

This game was such a pleasant surprise for our family! It feels a little like playing 3-D checkers, which made it easy to pick up but still exciting and new. My six-year-old loved it so much that he asked to play again and again — always the sign of a winner in our house! Setup was quick and simple, and the instructions were very easy to follow. The board itself is bright, colorful, and aesthetically pleasing, which makes the game even more enjoyable. While it comes with quite a few tokens, they’re surprisingly easy to store since everything packs neatly with just the board and the pieces. We’ve found it to be a great way to blend family fun with learning — colors, counting, and even a bit of strategy. Highly recommend for families looking to add something engaging and educational to their game nights!

Fun for the Whole Family!

Skippity was such a fun game for our family to play! It was simple to learn so we got straight to the fun! Our 7 year old loved it and was engaged throughout the game. It was a fast paced game that quickly turned competitive as we each battled it out to gain the most blue coins! This is the most popular color in our house. When playing with our 7 year old it was super easy to get started. When our 4 year old came over and wanted to play it took a little longer for her to understand but it was also easy to modify for younger players. This game helped us connect together and enjoy some laughs during our family game night. It was a great opportunity to unplug together and to practice winning and losing with grace! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing us with this fun game!

Easy to Learn, Great for Littles

The best part of this game was how easy it was to set up and learn to play. Very similar to a pared-down type of checkers (but with an added objective), this game depends on players recognizing patterns in spacing to jump over and "capture" little colored tokens. My seven- and nine-year-olds had no problem picking up the concept, as we've played they've been more and more able to get double or triple jumps independently. My five-year-old seemed to have little interest in playing the game itself, though the tokens held some interest for him because of their shimmering colors and stacking quality. While the kids are still not at the point where they can beat me, they understand the objectives and have definitely improved in pursuing those. Because the game is simplistic, it runs quickly and provides just the right level of competition; on the other hand, the nine- and seven-year-olds have been playing more strategic games, so this game has already started to take a back seat to those. This was an ideal game to bring out when we wanted something fast and fun, and it's visually appealing. We've already had quite a few sessions of family game-playing with this (including times with my slightly color-blind husband, who just made it all the more fun as he is a good sport and makes the kids giggle by putting his tokens in the wrong stack). It was fun to play this and evaluate it as a reviewer for the Stellar Product Testing Panel!

I received this game through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. To be fair, my kids are still too young for this. My daughter who is 4.5 understood the general concept but it didn’t really grab her attention. My almost 3 year was getting frustrated by it. He did like the shiny game pieces though. I’ll also note that there are a lot of pieces for clean up and that are easy to get lost. I liked the simple nature of this game but we might need to try again in a couple years.

Perfect for all ages

Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel my family and I were able to receiving this Skippity board game. I have a family of 3 small boys ages 8,5 and 2 years old. This board game has amazing, vibrant colors that really catch your eye. My toddler wanted to join along so he was my helper collecting the tokens. My five year old who never likes to play board games actually requested to join us because he said it seemed fun and easy. The instructions were simple and easy to follow. It really got everyone using their brains to come up with strategies to be able to collect as many tokens in one move. I really loved how straight forward it is and how even small children can play along. It’s a basic game but endless hours of fun because anyone can win. Storage is easy and it included a storage bag which is so helping to organize the tokens and keep track of them in a house with small children .

a new favorite!

I normally stay far away from games that involve 100+ pieces, but when I tested this product for the Stellar Product Testing Panel, it instantly became a hit with my young children. Other games with so many pieces take a long while to set up each time, but with a few players we are able to set it up within minutes. My kids ask to play Skippity all the time now! I like that they are learning strategy and problem solving, and that the game can be played with as few as 2 players. Game lovers who have little storage space such as myself will appreciate that the game board folds up small enough that I am able to toss the box and store everything in a single gallon sized zip top bag. Our biggest challenge with Skippity is finding something more interesting to distract the toddler with so that we can play without him bulldozing all the pieces!

Fun, easy to learn, and a hit with the kiddos

My husband and I love board games. We have the foolishly complicated ones with a gazillion miniatures that take up a whole dining table, and the deceptively simple ones that require very little more than your imagination. So it's been a joy sharing that love with our 3-year-old and 5-year-old -- and Skippity has 1000% helped with that. Both of our kids were delighted, opening the box and looking at all the sparkly, colorful pieces. My 5-year-old instantly started on the directions, which were simple enough that she could both read and understand how to play the game... which she immediately began doing, showing her younger brother how to take his turn after she'd gone. I'm aware my eldest is precocious, but the fact that she was able to completely grasp the game right out of the box and start playing, self-led, and then proceeded to have an absolute blast with her little brother, is frankly outstanding for any kind of board game. Both kids now ask to play Skippity several times a week, and while I'm sure I'd have a great time playing it with them, they're genuinely happy to have something they can play by themselves, without parents having to muck them up haha. Each game is also short enough that it holds everyone's attention, without anyone needing to get their wiggles out in between rounds. The only reason this game has 4 stars is because the pieces are shiny and beautiful -- which shouldn't be a bad thing, except it encourages pilfering them away to use as coins for pirate games, or turning them into "rainbow raindrops". Which like. Again, isn't necessarily a bad thing. But then we can't find all the pieces. I don't know if there's a perfect solution for "this game is so pretty that my kids want to steal pieces of it for their own nefarious purposes", but it does ding the game a little in my book haha. Oh, to have a game where there are no pieces to lose. But yeah: full recommend. My kids LOVE it. I received this family board game from the Stellar Product Testing Panel.

Fun and Easy to Start!

I received this as Part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel! This game is so awesome! We have a five-year-old, eight-year-old and 10-year-old and they were all able to play this with minimal instruction from an adult. When we played together we were able to help each other find the best routes and encourage one another. We could chat as well since this game doesn’t have so many rules. I’m so excited to have this as a regular in our game rotation! It is such a winner. Fast, fun, easy to play and the kids love it!

Engaging Fun Family Game

MindWare Skippity has been a fun addition to our family game nights! It’s easy for the kids to play together on their own, but also perfect for all of us to enjoy as a family. The instructions are incredibly simple and quick to learn, which meant our 6- and 8-year-olds caught on right away. I loved watching them get excited as they spotted chances to triple and even quadruple skip within just a few turns. The game really encourages strategic thinking without feeling too complicated, and it moves at a great pace—like a quicker, more flexible version of checkers that allows more players and more creative moves. As a parent, I appreciated how easy it was to stay engaged in the game even with two toddlers distracting us. The gameplay feels competitive in a light, friendly way, but also has a cooperative vibe as everyone works on the board. I received MindWare Skippity through the Stellar Product Testing Panel, and it has already created so many sweet family memories. It’s one of those games the kids ask to play again and again—and we’re always happy to join in!

Quick Game

I was given this family board game to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I played with my 6 and 8 year old (my 4 year old also tried, but I had to tell him the moves). The rules were simple to follow and it was very easy to set up. After one round, I had a good understanding how to play and there was no reason to look at the instructions again. My older 2 understood the basis of the game, but struggled finding more advanced moves (double jumping or changing directions when you jumped). Our games lasted about 10 minutes and that was all they wanted to play at the time. They didn’t quite understand the idea of collecting a set of colors. My 6 year old wanted to go after a certain color instead of making sets. It was easy to keep them interfered because the rounds were quick. I’m not sure if this will be the first game that my kids will grab off the shelf, but we did have fun playing it and I appreciate how easy it was to understand. It’s a good game if you have less than 30 minutes to play!

A Top Pick for Playdates and Family Bonding

My family enjoys playing board games, and it has become one of our favorite ways to bond. Although Skippity Game is recommended for ages 5 and up, our four-year-old twins were able to play alongside their seven-year-old sister. They required a little guidance at first, but quickly caught on. Whenever we host playdates, the visiting children always ask to play this game. It’s fun, engaging, and competitive, while still being short enough to keep younger players’ attention—typically no more than 20 minutes. We often group children of different ages together, which encourages collaboration, thinking, and reasoning skills. The game is colorful, enjoyable, and has quickly become a family favorite. I highly recommend it to other families and friends. Thank you to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing us with this wonderful board game.

Skip fast to get skippity

Skippity has quickly become a new family favorite and we owe it all to Stellar Testing Panel for introducing us to the game and allowing us to try it out. Skippity is a checkerboard like game with round play pieces in 5 beautiful colors. The game play starts by randomly covering the board with all of the play pieces, minus the 4 middle squares. The first person must jump one play piece and land on an open square. Game play rotates players and continues in this fashion until there no more moves left to make. As play carries on, more squares open, allowing for multiple jumps in one play. The ultimate goal of the game is to collect all 4 colored game pieces forming a set. The player with the most complete sets wins the game. We played this with ages ranging from 5-50 and each player thoroughly enjoyed the game. The bright colors were very engaging for my younger children. My 5 year old needed a little help with game play the first few times, but quickly picked up her role there after. There is a good amount of strategizing that can be done to keep the game fresh and interactive, especially seeing as the goal isn’t to just collect the most pieces, but to collect complete color sets. Identifying multiple jump moves was fun for our kids and led to friendly “game talk”. With each game lasting around 10 minutes, it was just the right length to keep all players engaged. As an educator, my favorite part of this game, is that it encourages critical thinking skills and mathematical reasoning.

Great Alternative to Checkers for Young Kids

I received this game to test through the Stellar Product Testing Panel and am so glad I did. It is a great alternative to a standard game of checkers, especially for young kids. My kids are 7, 5, and 3. They loved the bright colors of the chips and eventually started pretending the chips were gems or treasures. The game itself came with the box, instructions, 5 colors of chips (one extra of each color that doesn't fit on the board) and the game board. Everything seems of really sturdy quality with vibrant colors and the chips even had sparkles inside the plastic they are made of. The board even held up after my 3 year old walked over the board when full of pieces (didn't hurt her bare feet and only made very small dents in the board from the ridges of the chips). The game is easy enough for anyone about 4 or older to play. You can only jump vertically or horizontally as long as there is an open space directly behind the chip you want to jump and you are positioned right next to the chip to jump. This is the same as checkers except for the directions you can jump. The kids loved that you can do as many jumps in a row as possible and only wanted to move if could do a multi jump. The goal is be the player at the end of the game with the most full sets of each color. The game ends when there are no jumps available on the board. With these rules, there are no fights about who is what color because everyone is everything. Kids have to still strategize about how to get colors needed and can either count or visually compare their stacks of each color to get a subtle math component to the game. It's a fun family game night option that doesn't have any too small pieces to worry about and can go at whatever sped works for the ages of those who are playing. Highly recommended.
