Right away, the biggest thing you notice is how much content is packed in. There are a ton of cars—over 130—and they’re not just the standard Hot Wheels lineup. You’ve got monster trucks, bikes, and different vehicle types, which actually change how races feel instead of everything playing the same. The tracks are also more varied than I expected, with environments like backyards, arcades, and mini-golf courses that give it that “toy track in the real world” vibe. Gameplay is where it really shines. It’s very much an arcade racer—fast, forgiving, and focused on fun rather than realism. The new mechanics like double jumps and lateral dashes add a lot more control and strategy, especially when you’re trying to stay on track or knock other racers off. It feels chaotic in a good way, and it captures that feeling of playing with actual Hot Wheels tracks. That said, it’s not perfect. The progression system can feel a little off—you’re often buying cars from a rotating shop instead of unlocking them naturally, which takes away some of that “earned reward” feeling. Also, while the Switch version runs well overall, it’s clearly not as sharp visually as other platforms, even if performance is generally stable. From what players say, the overall experience is still very positive. One reviewer called it “bigger and better in just about every way,” highlighting how it builds on the first game without losing what made it fun. Overall, this is one of those games that doesn’t try to be overly serious—it’s just fun. If you’re looking for a racing game that’s easy to pick up, has a lot of content, and doesn’t require a huge time investment to enjoy, this is a great choice. It’s especially good if you’re playing casually or with kids, but there’s enough there to keep you coming back longer than you’d expect.

Scam
Even if you buy the cartridge, you can’t play the game without linking to a nintendo account online. It’s really obnoxious. I don’t want my little kid online and I don’t want to be constantly bombarded with account login headaches. I paid for the game and I want my kid to be able to put the cartridge in and play it offline. What’s the point of even having a cartridge if you still have to connect online to play? It’s a scam.

Good game, disappointed in target
Like the game but received the item unpackaged and just in the case. No plastic on the item or anything. Not labeled refurbished or anything so expected it to come brand new. Thankfully the game looks to be in good condition.
