Fresh Step Lightweight Extreme Litter W/Febreze

This is absolutely the worse litter. It is NOT dust free, actually it creates clouds of dust when you scoop and with cat use.

Purchased product as touted "Lightweight and 99% dust free". Dust was so bad when filling box I started to choke. Febreze scent is so strong you can smell it when cat scratches in box two rooms away. You can smell the Febreze scent on the cat after use, plus its paws are dusty. Cats have around 200 million olfactory receptors in their noses, which is much more than humans. So if its overwhelming to me think about how the cat feels....

I bought this 3 weeks ago. The dust was soooo bad. I will never buy this again. 99.9% was false.

I purchased this litter because the store didn't have any other Fresh Step products available. I always buy unscented Outstretch litter if it's available, if not I buy Outstretch with Febreze and haven't noticed a strong scent. The Light Weight product I bought said EXTREME, but I was hoping it wouldn't be too strong. I put the litter in the box and waited an hour, but the scent was still too strong, so I threw it away. I guess I'll always buy Outstretch online because it appears there is a shortage of Fresh Step products in my area. Hoping the company will continue to have unscented products.

One of the best litters until now. I been ordering. 4-5 boxes a month for multiple cats for years. The pro was 99% dust free and yet, it’s super dusty now. Dust fly out like smoke during cleaning and pouring in new litters. Stuck with 6 boxes and can’t return.

Maybe it was 99.9% dust free at one time, but the last several boxes I’ve purchased have been VERY dusty. I almost need to wear a mask when emptying the litter box. My poor cat is breathing this stuff into her lungs. I will definitely be looking for a different brand.

My cat will not use tidy cat so he likes this litter better

I bought this today. The one that says 99.9 % dust free. I've been using a different brand that is 99.9 %dust free so I thought I'd try this since it says it's 99.9%. Well it's not. When I poured it in the litter box, a big puff of dust came up and with the other brand I normally use, that never happens. I'm in the next room next and I can still smell the dust in the air. That .1% shouldn't be that bad. Not a fan and will go back to my normal brand.

This litter advertised 99.9% dust free, try 99.9% full of dust. I ran out of my normal brand A&H and couldn't find any In the store so I thought I would give this a try. It is horribly dusty and my cat and myself are breathing this dust in. Now my cat is sneezing and coughing terribly. This product should be taken off the market, it's a health hazard.

Like the lightweight, but it tracks everywhere and gets all over my cat's fur causing her to itch. Too much dust.

First let me start with this. My 17 year old cat has beginning renal failure. We just moved cross country 840 miles to a big city where I needed a lightweight cat litter and an easy system. Well I've traditionally always bought tidy cats because I wasn't aware fresh step made a lightweight litter. My cat has deformed paws and cannot retract her claws anymore... so I thought it best to keep her in my bedroom away from other fur family members and where she can't get stuck on the carpets or have to go upstairs. My ride or die companion has never "covered up" after using the litter box. Her fur family would do it for her. So here we are a cat in renal failure peeing nonstop and not covering their potty. I would come home from work to a major stink. I began to research other litters that could help. Found fresh step. Went and bought it August 25th. Let me tell you. When I came home from work the next day I didn't smell anything!! Fresh step clumps better than tidy cats and appears NOT to be having this weird chemical reaction with my cats urine!!! No uric acid smell no nothing!! It's like her litter box isn't in my bathroom!? You have no idea how relieved I am. I scoop her litter box every morning and every night as well as dump and refill weekly and with tidy cats the odor was still very strong. I am now a customer for life. Hopefully my old lady kitty has a few more months or a year left and I will breathe much easier having her as my roommate. I've had her since she was 5 weeks old and she is 17.5 years old now! I love this brand, by far and away better than anything on the market. However, tried the Lightweight and for whatever reason, litter sticks to the kitties paws causing a continual cleanup problem.

I have 2 electronic litter boxes. This is the absolute best litter I've ever used. The lightweight litter puts less stress on the litter box's motor. I will never buy anything different!!!

Honestly this is the only product that actually traps litter from my cats, the lightweight product is great for someone who has more than one box.

I've used the regular Fresh Step litter and liked it so I thought the lightweight would be good also. Unfortunately, they filled the lightweight with something that looks like small confetti. The cats track it everywhere.
