Q: This information says all three cables Cat 8, but the packaging shows that two are Cat 6??

  • A: At my local Target it seems they only had Cat6 in the 25'.

submitted byMike - 1 year ago
  • A: This is only the cat 6 cable. Don’t worry about doing cat ate as that is a little bit of overkill and not really required unless you are wiring a business. If you are just wiring your house, I would highly recommend cat 6a cable. It was designed as the next step up. It doubles the bandwidth to 500 MHz and adds mandatory testing for alien crosstalk, which means it’s built to resist interference from neighboring cables.

Q: Is this wire rated for ceiling in-wall use for POE camera installation?

submitted by anon - 4 days ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for reaching out about Cat 6 Ethernet Cable - dealworthy™ Black. When it comes to permanent installations like in-wall or ceiling runs, the dealworthy™ Cat 6 cable requires a bit of caution. While it technically supports PoE (Power over Ethernet), its safety rating is the most important factor for your project. 1. The "In-Wall & Ceiling" Rating Most dealworthy™ Ethernet cables are CM-rated (standard communication). For In-Wall: CM-rated cables are generally acceptable for residential in-wall use on a single floor. For Ceilings: If your ceiling is an "Air Plenum" (meaning it's used for air circulation or HVAC return), you are legally required by building codes to use a CMP-rated (Plenum) cable. CMP jackets are designed to emit very little toxic smoke if they catch fire. Recommendation: If you are running this through a standard attic or a simple drop ceiling that is not an air return, it is likely fine. However, if it's a professional or commercial space, you should look specifically for a CMR (Riser) or CMP (Plenum) rated cable. 2. Is it good for PoE Cameras? Yes, but with limitations. The dealworthy™ brand is a budget-friendly line. For PoE cameras, the two biggest factors are conductor material and gauge. PoE Support: It will power a standard IP camera (15W–30W) over typical residential distances (25–50 feet). Pure Copper vs. CCA: High-quality PoE installations prefer Pure Bare Copper because it handles heat better. Many budget "patch" cables use CCA (Copper Clad Aluminum). While dealworthy™ cables are marketed as "Cat 6," they are lightweight. If you are running a long distance (over 100 feet) or using high-power PTZ (Pan-Tilt-Zoom) cameras, you should avoid budget patch cables and buy a spool of solid copper cable instead. If you have any additional questions, we welcome you to contact MyTGTtech at 833-848-8324 every day, between 7am-11pm CST.

Cat six,Cat 6 not worth it. Upgrade to cat 6a.

Category six cable is OK for slower Internet but if you require it for a little bit more of an upgrade and for anything above 500 MHz I would highly recommend going to cat 6a cable. It. was designed as the next step up. It doubles the bandwidth to 500 MHz and adds mandatory testing for alien crosstalk, which means it’s built to resist interference from neighboring cables.

    Not fire-rated

Although the cord works just fine, it is NOT FIRE RATED AT ALL. Keep mind that most cables have "CM" labeled on the jacket, and this is the bare minimum for fire-standards. If you plan to run this in a wall or within a drop ceiling (residential), know that it may give off very toxic fumes during a fire and/or spread that fire more quickly. Ideally, you'd use a cable that has CMR or CMP on the label. Wtith that said, the risks are likely low, given all the other toxic items that could burn in the house. Just be aware of what you're buying--you get what you pay for.

    Exactly what I needed!

This is just the right thing for connecting up our Xbox. I needed a really long cable to go from port in the basement to the other side where we wanted to set it up and this was perfect. The performance speed of this cable is great too. No lagging!

    Stable connection!

My wifi isn't very stable so I needed to run an Ethernet cable from the modem to a switch so I can run my computer and tv on it. This does the job and has been reliable. I haven't had any issues with stability and connection. Great value and reliable.

Good for gamers, low latency but slow download speed

This ethernet cable is 25' long, so it's great if you need to have an internet connection some distance away from your router. I compared the internet speed with my wifi. With wifi my download speed was 226 mbps and my upload speed was 22 mbps. Latency was 37 ms. Then, I connected the ethernet cable and tested the speeds and here are the results: Download speed: 74mbps, Upload speed: 17 mbps, Latency was 4 ms. So, this cable would be a good option for gamers since it provides low latency. However, if you need fast download speed this might be the best option.

    Great basic cable

Great basic ethernet cable. This particular one is 50 feet, Cat 6. Outside coating is thick and the clips seem to be nice quality. This does come coiled, so if you need it to stretch a long way, be sure to gently bend it back out as the shape wants to stay coiled.

This Ethernet cable works well and is great for my office. It’s nice to have such a long option when I’m stuck with ports being where they are. It feels sturdy and is easy to use. Can’t ask for much more from a cord!

    Good Replacement Cable!

Great product, I've been looking for another cable to replace a 15 ft cable I use to have. This has worked perfectly for me. It clips easy into my cable clips I currently use at my workstation. My internet. I haven't noticed any interruptions to downloads and speed of transfer so I'm quite happy.
