A: I bought this blanket on December 6, 2025 and washed it yesterday and now it doesn’t work. The box flashes and the control on the blanket won’t even come on.

A: Currently have the same issue with this blanket.

A: Same issue. Washed and no longer turns on. Just got for Christmas!

A: I’ve had the same issue mine came back on late but now will work for a little and then blinking and won’t turn on again for awhile.

A: No I thought it was changeable

A: You have to plug it in for it to “work” properly.

A: It is advised heated electric throw with different settings.

A: On the box it states electric sofa throw, it says nothing about needing batteries to charge or it’s rechargeable. Look at the back of the box.

A: Not at all - we're glad you asked. This would be a plug in heated throw.

A: That happened to me twice and I just unplugged and plugged it back, and it resolved the issue. It was also, plugged in my bad outlet so could be an electrical issue as well.

A: Our throws and blankets are vigorously wash tested through third party testing lab so should not shed. Thank you for the feedback. Will bring this feedback to our Product teams.

A: Yes. I purchased the plaid throw and it is shedding terribly. Just washed today using instructions. If it continues to shed, I’ll be reaching out to the support email and submitting a review.

A: I’ve had mine since November and it sheds considerably still. Anything I wear when I use is covered! Now only half the blanket heats up too.

A: All temperature reading is based on 3rd party lab conditions. That said there is a large variance between lab and at home environment so we do not outlines temps.

A: I don’t know the exact temps, but the lowest setting on this Brookstone is hotter than a major competitor’s (Serta) heated blanket, and my dog finds this one too hot but that major competitor’s heated blanket is ok for him.

A: Mine did. Just washed it and dried it and the material is ruined.

A: Should not pill. We run our products through extensive wash tests during production to ensure performance.

A: Look at the corners of your blanket. One should have a black soft button. Press that and it will turn on. You'll notice it turns red when on. You can press up to four times for 4 heat levels.

A: Hello Shortstop. Would not recommend plugging into an extension cord.

A: It’s not recommended but I have done it with on that has a surge protector!
