A: Hi Grace! Yes, the CrossWave HydroSteam Plus will still produce steam even if you don’t press the solution trigger. Pressing the trigger adds cleaning formula to the steam, but for just steam cleaning on Berber carpet, you can leave the trigger untouched.

I absolutely love this crosswave vacuum cleaner! It’s my second style, and I’m particularly fond of this one. It consistently performs well, and I use it daily for light cleaning and occasionally for more extensive pet messes. While I’d prefer a cordless option (provided it doesn’t have the same issues as my previous cordless crosswave cleaners), a longer cord would also be helpful. I bought this model because of its steam feature, which I find highly effective. With the steam option enabled, I can effortlessly lift objects from any hard surface in two passes about 95% of the time.

Game changer for my 3 large indoor dogs !
With three large indoor dogs, my floors face constant hair, muddy paws, and messes. The BISSELL CrossWave HydroSteam vacuums, mops, and steams in one pass—picking up hair without tangles, removing sticky spots easily, and leaving tile/hardwood spotless with no streaks! Amazing product !

Steam vacuum cleaner small but mighty!
The steam function works well, it cleans the floor nicely. My husband actually redid our hardwood floors and had to buff them out, left wood particles and it mopped it up and cleaned them great. Of course for hard stuck on candy he had to scrape it off with something, but other than that normal dirt and stuff came off well. It is a bit heavy that I don’t quite like, but I know it’s because it has a good motor, and it’s more powerful being plugged in. I feel like I got what I paid for in this, and I’m happy. I used it once and my husband has used it more than me and he said he likes it so, for him to like it, I think it’s good!

Love our Big Green Cleaning machine….owned 3 years
We purchased the big green clean machine three years ago. The carpet in the high-level townhome that we had where we were renting had carpet that was 28 years old and had stains even after it was professionally cleaned they tried steam cleaning they tried chemical cleaning, etc.. so I decided to try buying the big green clean machine and oh my goodness on the first cleaning the water was almost like mud water so over the years the carpet lightened the first past got the majority of stains out and we’re talking stains that were in there for years and years. That was the best money we ever spent on any product. We absolutely love it now we’ve moved to all on one floor apartment that is all vinyl so we’re going to try the cross wave for something like that with Bissell. All I know is we just love that machine and I’m sure it’s going to sell quickly. I wish they had a trade-in program. Lol. But if you really want a great carpet cleaning machine that’s the tool for you and oh the attachment for upholstery clean the stairs beautifully. I think the stairs were more filthy than the carpet was we also cleaned our couch with upholstery to and it worked well. You just can’t go wrong. I can’t imagine the money we saved in professional carpet, cleaning bills

Would not recommend unless they fix the issue.
Would give a zero if possible. I bought this based on the vdo showing real steam cleaning, but upon using there was zero steam coming out. Returned and got another, which wasn't my original but a use one, still didnt work no steam. I Wish Bissell would fix this then it would be great!

I Highly Recommend The Bissell CrossWave HydroSteam Plus!
I was skeptical about this all in one vacuum floor cleaner, so I used my regular vacuum cleaner on my area rugs. I used the Bissell CrossWave on my floors & rugs, I'm amazed at how well it works. The floors & rugs don't remain wet for very long afterwards. I had so much cat hair in the dirty water reservoir, I was stunned, I thought my house was clean, plus I pre-vacuumed the rugs. It's a fantastic product!

Waste of money
Doesn’t have strong suction so essentially leaves soapy trail throughout the house. We have planking throughout the common areas of our home and the roller becomes so saturated so quickly it creates suds despite trying multiple different floor cleaning solutions and following dilution instructions per manufacturer. The studs wouldn’t be a problem if the suction were strong enough to fully collect them, leaving a clean floor versus dirty studs.

Trash, don’t buy it. Didn’t even work on my area rug , which is the reason I bought it. Kept shutting off because it sucked up the rug. (I have a huge “washable” rug ) (too much work to wash it every time. Was hoping this would do a trick) Hardwood floors still dirty. (Did the sock test on it)
