Q: Does this require adding eggs or can you get away with just adding water? My kid has an egg allergy so wondering if there are any recommended substitutes.

submitted by Anthony S - 3 years ago
  • A: We use chickpea water in place of eggs in any recipe and you'd never know. 3 Tablespoons of chickpea water from a can is = 1 large egg. Typical can of Chickpeas yields a little more than 3 eggs worth

submitted byLacry - 2 years ago
  • A: We had a kid with egg allergy and always used applesauce instead of egg. We bought a pack of the individuals and one container worked just fine for a batch of pancakes.

Q: Is this product safe for celiac patients or just for gluten free lifestyle folks.

submitted by love target - 4 years ago
  • A: We recommend reaching out to your health provider directly and work with them to ensure the foods you're choosing are right for your specific dietary needs.

  • A: It has the certified gluten free label on the front. So safe for Celiac. I have the diagnosis, and always aim to purchase items that have the certified gf label. And always read the ingredients.

Q: Can it be used with only water?

submitted by BJR - 5 years ago
  • A: Hi, thanks for the question. Our Original baking mix can not be used with only water. For best results, we recommend following the recipe on the box. Thanks.

  • A: I have used only water to make rolled out/ cookie cutter biscuits. They come out dense, which was desirable in my case. I never made pancakes w/ it.

    submitted by3chell - 1 year ago

Q: What ingredients are needed to make these? There is no picture of the directions.

submitted by Bisquit less - 1 year ago
  • A: Per the Betty Crocker website, you'll need bisquick, milk, vegetable oil, & egg to make pancakes or waffles. To make biscuits, omit the egg.

submitted byChocoholic - 1 year ago

Q: There's pictured of the top and bottom, front of the box but not the back where the recipe directions are. That's pretty useless! Are they're directions for muffins? What's needed?

submitted by Mum23 - 2 years ago
  • A: I had the same frustration. There's no recipe for muffins on the box, but the Betty Crocker website has several Bisquick muffin recipes.

submitted byChocoholic - 1 year ago

Q: Does this contain any partially hydrogenated oil?

submitted by Greeny - 3 years ago
  • A: General Mills has fully eliminated partially hydrogenated oils (PHOs) from our U.S. products.

Q: The box doesn't say "contains milk" yet the reviews say it now contains milk. Which is correct?

submitted by JessB - 4 years ago
  • A: In the fall of 2020, we started producing the 96oz Club Bisquick (16000-43059) product at an alternate production location to support increased product demand. This resulted in a change of allergens for the 96oz Club Bisquick. However, the 40oz box did not go through any changes in the potential allergens. Since ingredients can sometimes change, we recommend referring directly to the packaging for the most accurate information.

Faithful customer no longer!

Why would you change a product beloved by generations? My guess is profits outweigh quality and customer satisfaction. The new Bisquick has ruined favorite family recipes. Disappointed and dismayed!

🤮

Something is “off” with Bisquick. I remade my Bisquick biscuits twice after the first batch was not coming out the same. I’ve been making biscuits, pancakes and the cinnamon coffee cake with Bisquick for years and something is definitely off. I threw away the box and will no longer purchase Bisquick.

Bring back old Bisquick recipe

You took a perfectly good product and you changed it for the worst. Please bring back the original formula, as the new one does not taste anywhere near as good as the old one. I’ll never buy another box of Bisquick until you return to the old formula. Many other people I’ve spoken to feel the same way. Until then we will make it from scratch.

WHAT HAPPENED TO BISQUICK???

Bisquick has been a staple in our house forever. Was raised on Bisquick pancakes. And everything else cake-like, i.e. biscuits, dessert cakes and coblers, pancakes, pancakes and waffles. Unfortunately ALL GOOD things come to an end. The original recipe (we know and LOVE) has been changed, so if you get the original thinking it is what you are used to, you will be GREATLY DISSAPPOINTED. Tried the newer heart friendly version and threw it out. Terrible consistency and flavor. I am looking for someone to create a copycat version of the old original version and post it to the internet. I have bought my last Bisquick. Good - bye old friend. SO SAD

The new formula is terrible and ruins any recipe that calls for Bisquik. Searching for a new baking mix.

Terrible change

The new formula makes the worst dumplings ever; adding the oil doesn’t help. Light and fluffy to dense and tasteless. You lost a long-time customer Bisquick☹️

Awful

Not sure what you changed but my waffles and pancakes don’t taste like they used to. I’ve been a bisquick user for decades and thought I was doing something wrong but after the reviews now see it’s bisquick. They taste horrible. Please bring back the original bisquick and get rid of this new crap!

Disgusting

Bisquick is awful now. The recipe has changed. If you want your pancakes to taste like a styrofoam plate, I highly recommend this. Otherwise, seek alternatives. Btw, following the new recipe alteration does not help. And these should NOT be allowed to be called the “original” formula. They taste like the cardboard box they’re packaged in.

you ruined a good product

I am 70 now and have eaten bisquick bisquits since my birth . Due to work and travel , I had not cooked for myself for maybe 20 years . Recently I began cooking again and am extremely disappointed in the new woke Bisquick formulation . The biscuits turn out flat and heavy and the pancakes are just awful . You took a good item and monkeyed with the formula so that it is no longer worth trying to cook with . Shame on you .....

Formula changed

I haven’t had Bisquick in a couple years and got a recent box and every recipe on the back of the box produces a very dense product. It’s so frustrating because I’m not even sure how to tweak things so that the mix is palatable. What a waste of money!
