A: The package says 16 servings, but it also says 8x8 pan[normal thickness], 9x9, or 9x13[very thin] If you cut the 8" pan into 4 rows x 4 columns, that would give 16 two inch squares

This is the first I’ve ever had issues with a brownie mix. I followed the instructions. The added syrup packet was new for me. The brownies came out looking fine (the toothpick came out dry) but when eating, the texture was so hard and gummy and stuck to your teeth. It was strange because they were soft at first but once you start chewing they become hard and sticky. Never again. I’m not sure what brand I’ve bought at Weis but that is what I will go back to because I never had issues before with something as simple as brownies.

I usually buy three of the Ghirardelli brownie mixes to make enough for work events. This year, the cost difference between three of those and three of these was so high I went cheap. Well, you get what you pay for! These brownies are a sickly light brown with no chocolate flavor in spite of the extra espresso powder I always add to dial up the cocoa flavor. These are atrocious and I'm kind of embarrassed to bring them to work. Buy the better mixes.

I see from past reviews dated 2 years ago that since that time BC hasn't taken steps to switch back to their old recipe... such a shame. I thought either a) the box contents expired or b) my oil was rancid... neither were true. I will no longer be buying this product.

Awful
Worst brownies ever. Tasted awful and they literally glued themselves to the pan. I prepared them exactly as directed. Ended up throwing them out.

Haven’t made these in years but this was my go to mix. Followed directions to a T. Thought something was different with directions but still followed. Came out very crumbly!!!! Look up if there was something different with BC brownie mix and what do you know! There is. Gotta find a new mix now.

Old and Stale?
My family loves brownies, and often times we use another brand. But my kids wanted to try these. We made them per the instructions and when we ate them, the walnuts tasted like they were old and they were stale. So very, very, very disappointed.. I think we might be going back to our other brand.

Delicious, easy brownies. Great price.
For under $3, I can make 18 delicious, chewy, moist brownies for family and friends. My local bakery charges $5 for ONE brownie. You do the math... Recipe is pretty easy, even for a novice baker. Only requires 2 eggs and water. You won't need milk. This is my go-to for last minute potlucks. I keep boxes of these in the kitchen and then can whip up a tasty batch of brownies in under an hour. My only quibble with this product is that the instructions underestimate how long the brownies take to cook, at least in my electric oven. It's easy to undercook these brownies. Do use a toothpick to test "doneness," and err on the side of overcooking a bit (without letting them burn).
