This is my favorite storage container for wrapping because of the hinge lid. As another reviewer mentioned, it is meant to be laid flat and will open at the hinge if placed vertically. There are other storage containers for that purpose, if that is what you’re looking for. It’s not a tight lid, but that’s no issue for me. It’s good quality, so I’m happy with it.

I like a couple features of the design of this wrapping paper storage container - the foldable lid, so you only have to open half of it and the clamp-down handles that hold the lid securely. However, I bought several rolls of 40” wrapping paper and specifically looked for a container that would hold them. The EXTERIOR dimensions of this box are provided (44” length, so I never questioned whether my 40” paper would fit), but the INTERIOR dimensions are not. Note that the insets for the handles significantly shorten the length of a good portion of the box - meaning I can only fit the 40” wrapping paper on the outer sides of the container. The center of the container is too short to accommodate a 40” roll of paper.

Despite being labeled as "Brightroom," this is in fact a Sterilite product. The container and lid are both marked with the Sterilite logo. I actually think this is a positive thing! Sterilite is quality brand. Contrary to another review, the lid absolutely does fit on the storage container. The lid does not snap on, nor is it supposed to. The lid simply sits on the box and the handles on either are are used to lock it into place. That being said, the box should remain horizontal at all times. If you store vertically, the lid may separate from the box at the "hinge" part in the middle because it is not actually snapped in place. If the lid did snap into place, it would not be possible to easily lift the halves open for quick access. The only reason I have given this item 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the quality of the product itself. I have the exact same product, purchased from Target, about 5 or 6 years ago. That one has green handles, but otherwise is identical and is also a Sterilite. That one is of much better quality plastic than this one. However, it is, I believe, the best wrapping paper storage box currently availble. Other options are either vertical which are clumsy to use and impractical to store, or they are made of canvas and flimsy. Despite the decreased quality over the years, this is still solid and sturdy, storing them is easy (I keep them under my bed), and am glad to finally have a second one.

Lid doesn’t actually fit. Bought it and put what I needed in it, lid hangs off by an inch. Realized it says sterlite on the lid but it’s a bright room product and they usually don’t have writing on the lid. Took just the lid back thinking maybe I grabbed the wrong one. Nope, the sterlite lid is the only one available for this bin. Worker I asked for help was also very confused, and must have ran into another worker that has dealt with this already while he was looking in the back for me. Will be returning the whole thing.
