A: Hi Cls! The 5.8 Qt. Storage Bin is not waterproof, air tight or bug proof, but the latches will keep the cover securely fastened to the base to keep contents protected.

A: Hi Kim! The 5.8 Qt. Storage Bin is made of Polypropylene plastic, and was designed for general household use. Sterilite only uses high quality FDA food safe grade plastics that are non-toxic. These plastics do not contain PVC's, Latex, Teflon, Phthalates chemicals, fungicides, Bishphenol A (BPA), or antibacterial chemicals. Nor do we use them in the manufacturing process of our items.

Right Bin, Wrong Lid, Zero Options
sent with wrong lid. I got the correct bright path bins but they came with gray hefty brand lids. there does not seems to be a way to correct this without doing a full return. I attempted to call two of my locals stores to see if I could just bring the lids in to exchange. one answered and hung up twice and the other didn't answer at all. VERY unimpressed with the lack of options I have in fixing this issue.

Sillmilar but less expensive than Sterilite equivalent
This item is very similar to the Sterilite 5.7 qt. container at a significantly lower price. While the container does seem a bit “lighter” than the Sterilite version, it seems to be working well for my applications. As an added plus, it also seems to stack well with the Sterilite container, so I can mix and match them on my shelves. Not sure where the 1 quart difference comes in.

Don't Buy
I ordered 8 of these containers. (My first order arrived opened, packaged very damaged and many missing items. It would have helped to have a packing slip, this way the items could have been retrieved by the shipping company and repackaged.) Several arrived without tops and 1 arrived broken. Also, dirty, with scratches. Did a machine package these? Customer service only gave my the option to return. I can't get to a Target nor a mail service to return. This has become an inconvenience. I tried to contact the manufacturer and they told me that they do not send out tops or replacements, that it is in Targets hands. If Target new that tops were missing, I would have preferred that my order was cancelled, or reduced to the number of items available. Please don't send out items if ithey are broken, damaged, used or incomplete. Thank you.
