Q: Can I add a weight bar like the G3 version? One user said there's a hole at the bottom of the G3's glideboard to insert a 1 inch weight bar. I am hoping thst this is true for the G5.

Worth it.

I bought the g5 and totally worth it. I was an avid workout geek, until a neck injury few years back. This is perfect to start again and slowly progress all while keeping it simple and safe. I use it for my physical therapy exercises plus I can use it to work my legs without having to hold weights. But it is taking lots of space, if like me, won’t close it/ put it away every time.

Wonderful

Works great, and you can add a straight bar to the bottom to add more weight! Makes working out with weights feel like you’re not putting much effort into it and you still get results!

What I Needed!

First of all, it comes almost assembled. The only thing you have to do is add the acessories. I love that it can fold and fit under my bed. Also, it is a product my entire family can use. Since my schedule doesn't allow me to visit a gym, this takes the place of it for me. It comes with many beneficial workout guides as well as a nutritional guide.

Love it!

The Total Gym is awesome and such a great workout. I love that it has SO many different workouts too. We are very happy with this purchase. Loved the 2 day shipping! Also it came packaged well, puts together quickly and is very good quality.

Versatile, easy, strong workout

So versatile and powerful. Love that it's practically preassembled and I'm giving my neglected muscles a good pump. Note, you won't push as heavy as the gym machine, but that may be for the best.

Love this machine

Great compact machine that gives you a total body workout with a small footprint. That footprint can be eliminated between workouts if you choose to fold the unit and store it under a bed or in a closet.

Great Home Gym

This gym has been a fantastic tool for me to use at home. Before the pandemic, I was in the gym 5 days a week, every morning at 5am. I wanted a Total Gym when I was younger, but as I got older I was worried I'd be "too in shape" for it. How wrong I was... especially after a year of very sporadic workouts. I've officially been using it for over 1 month and feel great. I absolutely recommend this for anyone looking to get a good workout at home without the need for dumbbells or large equipment. Folds to the size of an ironing board and is super quiet if you take some care to open and close it. Quiet during use as well- just hear a sliding of the board across the rails.

Good substitute for going to the gym

Have been using my apex g5 for a few weeks now and can feel it. It's a good substitute for not being able to workout at the gym during covid. Easy to use for the most part. Seems well made, sturdy and smooth motion. Will update as I continue to use.

Always wanted a total gym and finally purchased one. Have had a few workouts and it delivers as expected. Quality on the product is excellent for the price. Many exercises and compliments any exercise routine.

An impressive family gym!

We love our Total Gym. There are 5 of us ranging from age 54-13, and the Gym works for everyone. Target delivered our gym in express time. We were shocked that it came early and it was in mint condition. The box was quite heavy but easy enough for 1 person to put on a hand cart. There are so many good instructions and videos and resources that come with this family gym. We are impressed so far after a week of use.

The Total Gym Apex 3 is an essential in a home gym. I initially purchased it to help me with my back and core muscles. I have used a similar gym for my physical therapy. Now I am able to apply the same workouts at home. As a bonus, I am learning there are many various in using the gym with the attachments and I can workout my other muscles. The set up was easy. The gym is light weight and foldable, which makes it easy for me to move it around. The only negative is that there were scratch marks on the metal parts. Other than that, I would have given this gym 5 atars.

Perfect piece of strength training equipment

Obviously being out of the gym during this pandemic I find working out at home is vital. I use a couple other items from suspension trainer to a kettlebell but I was lacking a true strength training tool. Luckily this is a true gem that I noticed is frequently overlooked. First it’s easy to set up! Second, the workout moves are endless and it does a great job of mimicking traditional strength workout machines. Third, it comes with a comprehensive manual, dvd, app, and workout cards for all the moves and workout plan based on your level. It does fold up pretty well so if you don’t have dedicated space to leave it you can at at least store it in a closet (it’s moderately heavy <100lbs) Some considerations, I feel it’s marketed to our more Senior population. I am an active male (I instruct group fitness on the side) in my early 30s. It does take up a good bit of space when open. I haven’t used the APP or DVD I prefer to paper and pen to record/plan my workouts. I noticed you do need to subscribe and pay monthly to use all of the features of the APP like updated workouts which makes sense if you don’t plan on having a gym membership. Basically, don’t pass up this piece of equipment! It’s the perfect substitute for traditional strength training.
