A: Hello! Thanks for your question. Tomcat Rodent Repellent Ready-to-Use has a minimum shelf life of 3 years when properly stored, but will often last longer. After 3 years, products may gradually lose their effectiveness. We recommend to use product even if it has been stored for over 3-4 years. Products do not become more hazardous as they age.

I have used this for several years and it definitely drives the mice crazy and makes them want to leave. You do have to reapply every month.

This did not work for me in getting rid of squirrels that dig in the mulch beds around the house. It is advertised to be effective for 30 days, but the best I could get was about 10 days. Not a good bet for keeping them away for any real length of time.

The rodent has to return to the sprayed area at least once. After on lick/bite of the area they do not return because the active ingredient is extremely bitter. The thing worked for maybe a 4 or 5 minutes when I first tried to use it, and then nothing. Even so, there was no spray, only a pathetic dribble. Wasted all that money on a gallon of the stuff, and it's just not usable. If it were possible to give it less than one star, I certainly would. Really poor design.
