If it gets moved from the straight up position while in use it will not spray either at all or good depending on how much it is slanted. Did you turn the knob on the cap to the ON position. When fully in ON position, can feel knob click and the arrow on the knob will point to "ON". Check to ensure that cap is not broken. Turn the knob completely to one of the 3 on positions (spray pattern images on tip). If it is in between settings, it will not work correctly. If locked the trigger does not depress much.
