The Original McKenzie® Self-Inflating AirBack™ Lumbar Support is ideal for on-the-go lumbar support. It can be adjusted to any type of seat, whether in the car, on a plane, at a ball game, or anywhere you need added lumbar support. Inflate to the desired level in a matter of seconds by twisting the valve. To deflate, re-open the valve, roll the AirBack tightly and close the valve. The lumbar roll measures 16" long x 2" diameter x 8" high (at tallest point) when fully inflated. When deflated and tightly rolled it measures 8" long x 3" diameter.

A: Hello, The lumbar support is designed to self inflate on its own when you open the valve. Close the valve when the lumbar support has inflated to the desired level. For a firmer feel, reopen the valve and gently blow into it. Close valve at the desired level of firmness.

A: There is soft foam inside the pillow, which is compressed and wants to expand. When you open the valve, it allows the foam to expand, causing air to get sucked into the pillow. Closing the valve once the pillow is inflated makes for a thicker/firmer lumbar support. This design is easily adjustable and portable.
