Description
Zinc Orotate is a high-bioavailability mineral salt that combines ele zinc with a heterocyclic compound known as orotic acid. The use of orotic acid as a mineral transport facilitator was pioneered by the renowned German orthomolecular physician Dr. Hans Nieper as a way to enhance the uptake of supple minerals into body tissues. The fact that orotic acid is a substance produced in the body makes it an outstanding mineral transporter, able to readily penetrate cell membranes and increase tissue concentrations.

This little pill get the job done!!
Awesome supplement and I like the fact that it is just below or right at the daily recommended instead of more than what the body needs or can absorb. Part of the problem today is that people are taking to much of a good thing causing other problems, more is not always better!!

Small capsule size and no stomach upset!
My entire family has taken this zinc for several years because I read that zinc orotate is a good form of zinc and doesn't cause stomach upset like other forms. We do take this with food just to be on the safe side, but other forms of zinc have upset our stomachs even with food, and this one does not. We like that the capsules are small and easy to swallow, too. Our bloodtests showed that our zinc levels improved after supplementing with this zinc, which was the main goal!

Foul
These pills have an incredibly foul smell and taste. I keep tasting it for quite some time after taking one. I don't know if it is the brand, or if it's something with the zinc orotate itself, but I will be going back to taking zinc picolinate.

They stink
I bought two bottles of these. The capsules have strong unpleasant smell. Many supplements have unpleasant smell, but this one is strong, and I'm not sure this is not some rot. I doubt they supposed to smell this way. At least, I was not able to find any mentioning in Google that zinc orotate should smell.
